F2pool co-founder leads SpaceX's first crewed polar space tourism mission

2024-08-13 12:34:33

ChainCatcher news, F2pool co-founder Wang Chun posted on X expressing that he has been looking forward to participating in SpaceX's crewed polar flight mission for two and a half years. The proposal, planning, trajectory design, and crew selection for this mission have all been completed by the client.

This trip is a space tourism mission, but it is different from any previous space tourists. In the history of space exploration, this is the first time that a private individual can rent an entire spacecraft to plan, design, and execute a highly personalized mission with a clear objective.

Previously, American aerospace company SpaceX announced on Monday that it will carry out the first human-crewed polar flight mission around the Earth by the end of this year. This private spaceflight mission is led by cryptocurrency entrepreneur Wang Chun, with three other members including a polar explorer, a robotics expert, and a filmmaker.

The Fram2 mission lasts 3-5 days, and members will observe the Earth's poles through a dome at an inclination of 90 degrees and an altitude of 425 to 450 kilometers in a near-polar orbit, studying auroras and physical phenomena in polar regions, and will capture the first human X-ray image in space.
