ChainCatcher news, hedge fund mogul Bill Ackman stated on social media: "I think it's unfair to attack Lutnick. I don't believe he is pursuing his own interests." Ackman had previously criticized Lutnick, claiming that the latter profited by shorting America.

In response, he said: "After our country and president have made tremendous economic progress, there have been what I believe are significant policy mistakes, and now we are facing risks due to tariffs, which I find very frustrating." Earlier, National Economic Council Director Hassett stated that Ackman should tone down his rhetoric on tariffs: "I urge everyone, especially Bill, to soften their language a bit."
