According to ChainCatcher news, the ZKsync Guardian team submitted a proposal in July 2025, planning to allocate a total of 8.5 million ZK tokens for guardian compensation and management expenses over a two-year period from September 2024 to September 2026.

The proposal will revoke the existing unminted quota of 2 million ZK tokens (V1) and enable a new quota of 8.5 million ZK tokens (V2), managed by the ZKsync Guardians.

Of this, 3.75 million ZK tokens are allocated for the 2024-2025 compensation, 3.75 million ZK tokens for the 2025-2026 period, and an additional 1 million ZK tokens for administrative expenses.
