Vitalik: The mission of Ethereum is to build a world computer and serve as the core infrastructure of the internet

Collection

Vitalik Buterin posted on the X platform that Ethereum has increased the gas limit and the number of blobs in 2025, improved the quality of node software, and achieved a performance milestone with zkEVM.

Ethereum is moving towards becoming a new and more powerful blockchain through zkEVM and PeerDAS. The challenge Ethereum faces is to achieve its established goal of building a world computer, serving as the core infrastructure for a freer and more open internet. Ethereum is developing decentralized applications that are immune to fraud, censorship, or third-party interference, and have the stability to operate even after developers disappear. To achieve this goal, Ethereum needs to realize large-scale usability and true decentralization at both the blockchain layer and the application layer.
