It warns that periodic security assessments and scheduled patch updates have increasingly become insufficient to meet the challenges, with the time window from vulnerability discovery to exploitation reduced from weeks to minutes.

The report focuses on the banks' response capabilities, arguing that financial institutions must accelerate the speed of software fixes and expedite the related authorization decision-making processes.
