Prime Minister Trudeau: The Canada-U.S. trade agreement needs to be reached at the right time
The trade dispute between the United States and Canada is still brewing. Canada's counter-tariff measures against the U.S. have taken effect, and the U.S. has imposed a 50% tariff on over a hundred categories of Canadian goods, which took effect on the 15th. Canadian Prime Minister Carney stated that a trade agreement must be reached when Canada's interests are respected and the timing is right.
He announced that Canada will begin consultations with the European Union next month to build a security and economic alliance.
