Cboe supports a group lawsuit against the CFTC, seeking to block Coinbase and others from launching individual stock perpetual contracts
According to The Defiant, a group supported by Cboe has filed a lawsuit regarding the approval of individual stock perpetual contracts by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and is seeking emergency relief to prevent the relevant contracts from being listed as securities futures.
The lawsuit names Coinbase, Kalshi, and Bitnomial as defendants. Kalshi is a prediction market platform regulated by the CFTC, while Bitnomial operates a cryptocurrency derivatives trading business. The plaintiffs hope to intervene with emergency relief before the relevant contracts are officially listed.
