The South Korean trading platform Prabang was attacked, resulting in a loss of approximately 100 million Korean won

According to reports from Yonhap News, the South Korean virtual asset trading platform Prabang has announced a temporary service suspension due to a hacker attack that resulted in an asset loss of approximately 100 million Korean Won, stating that it will fully compensate the affected funds with the company's own assets.According to industry sources, Prabang discovered abnormal transfers from its hot wallet on October 24 and immediately initiated an emergency response and comprehensive investigation, during which a security vulnerability was found. After confirming unauthorized external access on October 26, the platform reported the incident to relevant authorities and continues to investigate the cause and extent of the losses.Yonhap News stated that there have been a series of hacker-related incidents in the financial and virtual asset industry recently, with this being the first confirmed case of asset loss. The report mentioned that this incident appears to be different from the Prabang-related incident mentioned by financial authorities in the AI hacker intrusion inspection results on October 14. Additionally, on October 27, Bithumb experienced a hacker attack targeting its internal systems, leading to the leakage of employee personal information. On the same day, several Korean Won trading platforms also faced intrusion attempts targeting personal information and assets.

first_img TrendForce: Apple’s foldable device shipments in the first year are approximately 5 million units

According to TrendForce, Apple's first foldable phone, iPhone Duo, has been available for pre-order for less than a week, and some orders on the official website have already been delayed until January 2027. TrendForce estimates that global shipments of foldable phones will see a slight increase of 0.5% in 2026, with Apple’s first foldable iPhone expected to ship around 5 million units, capturing approximately 24.8% market share in its first year, and Apple's entry will accelerate the redistribution of brand market share.Initial user feedback shows that the split-screen operation and screen experience after unfolding have been positively received, while the black edges of apps, button configuration, and fingerprint unlocking have increased adaptation costs. Reports of screen damage and high repair quotes have shifted the focus to reliability and ownership costs. TrendForce states that the visibility of creases on the iPhone Duo is relatively low, which is related to multi-layer material stress control and nano-texture optical optimization; the droplet-shaped hinge bears dynamic control, and insufficient retreat of the central support can lead to additional contact and stress concentration.Apple has provided replacements for a small number of devices with abnormal inner screens, and subsequent engineering improvements are expected to focus on hinge travel, support height, fitting precision, and assembly tolerances. On the software side, some apps still have black edges and insufficient space utilization, and the large screen has also increased energy consumption management requirements. TrendForce believes that Apple's advantage lies in the integration of chips, systems, and developer ecosystems, with competition shifting from design innovation to multi-tasking efficiency.

Hackers claim to have leaked information of over 40,000 employees from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security through Okta, and DDoSecrets has made it public

According to TechCrunch, a hacker claiming to be from the "Department of Peace" has reportedly obtained a large amount of employee data from the Okta single sign-on system used by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which was publicly released on Wednesday by the data transparency organization Distributed Denial of Secrets (DDoSecrets) as the "Icepick" dataset. The leaked records exceed 40,000, accounting for about one-fifth of DHS's approximately 220,000 employees, involving names, positions, work emails, phone numbers, and office locations, along with information related to internal system permissions. Among these, approximately 21,000 records belong to Customs and Border Protection (CBP) personnel, while about 10,000 records involve the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and its Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), with nearly 1,000 related to the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).TechCrunch stated that it has verified the authenticity of some of the data, with timestamps indicating that the data was exported around mid-August. The hacker also provided the data to journalist and hacker maia arson crimew, who then forwarded it to DDoSecrets. Okta responded that its systems and data were not breached; a spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security has not yet responded to requests for comment. The report indicates that this is the third incident of data leakage from the U.S. government that has drawn attention in the past month, following the theft of Federal Bureau of Investigation personnel files and Pentagon personnel data.
