first_img The Polish prosecutor's office has filed charges against the fifth suspect in the Zondacrypto case

According to CoinDesk, the Polish prosecutor's office has charged Roman Ż., a former business partner of the missing BitBay/Zondacrypto founder Sylwester Suszek, with two counts, including fraud.Roman Ż. was arrested last Saturday in the Silesia region of Poland, and his lawyer stated that he had assisted in managing the exchange before BitBay was renamed Zonda. Roman Ż. denies the charges and has provided a detailed statement to investigators, with police seizing valuable watches and documents related to Zondacrypto during the search. The prosecutor's office stated that the arrest was ordered due to concerns that Roman Ż. would flee upon learning of plans to travel to China, with his lawyer describing the trip as a business trip and stating that he held a return ticket for September 13. The court will decide whether to continue detaining Roman Ż. during the investigation.Previously, BitBay was renamed Zondacrypto in 2021, and the exchange ceased trading in April, following customer withdrawal freezes, with estimated losses of at least 35 million zlotys (approximately 9.4 million USD). The Estonian Financial Intelligence Unit partially suspended the license of the brand entity BB Trade Estonia OÜ. The Polish prosecutor's office has launched an investigation into suspected large-scale fraud and money laundering, receiving over 3,600 complaints as of June. The case is also related to Suszek's disappearance in March 2022, with the prosecutor's office merging the Zondacrypto investigation with the Suszek missing person case in August.

Chinese prosecutors' official account: Handling virtual currency money laundering cases should focus on wallet addresses as a breakthrough point

The WeChat public account of the Chinese prosecutor published an article titled "Research on Foreign-Related Cases | Key Points for Cross-Border Electronic Evidence Collection in Virtual Currency Money Laundering Crimes," which pointed out that when handling virtual currency money laundering cases, one should use the virtual currency wallet address as a breakthrough point, apply blockchain technology to analyze on-chain data characteristics and the flow of funds, and identify money laundering activities conducted through virtual currencies to achieve precise strikes. The article proposed that the evidence collection model should be built around two core proof elements: identity relevance and transaction relevance, establishing a "domestic evidence collection as the basis, cross-border evidence collection as a supplement" approach, and standardizing the applicable boundaries of unilateral evidence collection and bilateral judicial assistance to enhance the efficiency of cross-border evidence collection. For third-party entities such as exchanges, wallet service providers, and payment channels, the article suggested establishing "elemental" retrieval standards, focusing on obtaining KYC information and change records, login logs, device and IP information, two-factor authentication records, deposit and withdrawal records, on-chain addresses, transaction hashes, as well as risk control and freezing records, to establish the relationship of "address---account---natural person."

SIVE is accused of leaking news about its dual listing in advance, and the Swedish prosecutor recommends Nasdaq to initiate an investigation

According to Marketscreener, Swedish Economic Crime Authority prosecutor Jonas Myrdal stated that the early leak of news on social platform X regarding Sivers Semiconductors (SIVE) considering a dual listing in the U.S., which was officially confirmed by the company about 48 hours later, is not a coincidence and is highly likely to involve information leakage.Jonas Myrdal pointed out that the relevant information was published and continuously promoted on the X platform by an anonymous account with about 200,000 followers before the official disclosure, which subsequently led to a significant increase in the company's stock price within a short period. This pattern of behavior is similar to a previous case involving "pump-and-dump" manipulation, in which three individuals were convicted of serious market manipulation. He further suggested that the Nasdaq exchange should investigate this incident and assess whether there are violations of the EU Market Abuse Regulation (MAR). Currently, the source of the information leak is still under investigation.Previously, the "new stock god" Serenity posted on the X platform, seemingly "calling" Sivers, and expressed an optimistic outlook after further reviewing the latest earnings call content of Sivers Semiconductors. The company's management stated that "viewing ecological partners as competitors is not the correct mindset in a super cycle where demand far exceeds supply," reflecting the current strong demand in the photonics industry. Additionally, the photonics business pipeline has rapidly grown over the past five months, driving an overall revenue pipeline increase of 77%.
