Arya.ag, an agricultural warehousing and loan company in India, is testing a system for tokenizing warehouse receipts for stored grains on the Avalanche dedicated Layer 1 blockchain. Arya.ag is collaborating with Finternet to connect grain storage, warehouse receipts, collateral commitments, and loan statuses through this network. Devika Mittal, head of Ava Labs India, stated that the testing is underway, with each tokenized warehouse receipt representing ownership of the stored goods.Sanmesh Kalyanpur, a director at Finternet Labs, mentioned that Arya.ag's samplers collect information on stored grains and input it into the company portal. Finternet will integrate farmers, commodities, warehouses, and insurance information into a "composite token" for banks to assess collateral risks. Arya.ag stores approximately $2 billion worth of agricultural products in its warehouse network and supports loans of about 120 billion Indian Rupees (approximately $1.26 billion) annually, with its loan department, Arya Dhan, disbursing around $230 million in loans each year.The concept of Finternet originated from a 2024 paper by the Bank for International Settlements (BIS), co-authored by Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani and then-BIS General Manager Agustín Carstens, proposing the establishment of an interconnected unified ledger for tokenized assets. In 2024, the Indian government launched a 10 billion Rupee credit guarantee scheme to encourage financing against electronic transferable warehouse receipts. The two companies have not disclosed the expected launch date or initial deployment scale.

first_img The Curve soft liquidation mechanism allows hundreds of loans to survive in a liquidation state for several weeks

According to CoinDesk, data from Curve Finance shows that its lending market has recorded a total of 704 "soft liquidation" events, involving 602 borrower addresses, with a median duration of 14.5 days, of which a quarter lasted at least 38.9 days, and some positions remained within the liquidation range for several months. Of these soft liquidations, 476 began in the first half of 2026. Unlike traditional lending protocols such as Aave and Compound, Curve's LLAMMA system does not sell off collateral all at once after the price drops below a threshold, but gradually converts collateral into borrowed assets within a price range. If the price rebounds before the loan completely fails, some or all of the conversions may be reversed. This means that borrowers are not in a grace period; their collateral has been partially liquidated during the loan's duration, but they still have the opportunity to restore their positions if the price reverses. However, soft liquidations are not without costs. Data shows that borrowers may still incur losses due to transaction fees, conversions, rebalancing, interest, and bid-ask price fluctuations, and if the market remains unfavorable, positions may still fall into hard liquidation. Curve Finance is a mainstream DeFi protocol focused on stablecoin exchanges and crvUSD lending, currently holding approximately $1.35 billion in deposits, with a DEX trading volume of about $3.4 billion over the past 30 days and active loans of about $46 million.

According to CoinDesk, the Bitcoin mortgage product jointly launched by Better Mortgage and Coinbase has been fully launched last week. Borrowers can pledge Bitcoin at a 250% collateral rate to pay for the down payment on a home. For example, to purchase a $500,000 property, one would need to pledge $250,000 in Bitcoin to support a $100,000 down payment. Since the full launch, the pre-application loan scale has reached $360 million, higher than the previous estimated $260 million from the waiting list users.At closing, borrowers will receive two loans: one is a conventional mortgage secured by the property that meets Fannie Mae standards, and the other is a down payment loan secured by pledged Bitcoin and a subordinate lien on the property. Better disclosed that it may re-pledge the Bitcoin pledged by borrowers, as long as an equivalent amount of assets is retained for return. Borrowers cannot retrieve their crypto assets early and must wait until the conventional mortgage is fully repaid or refinanced to recover them, meaning Bitcoin may be locked for up to 15 to 30 years.Unlike typical crypto loans, a drop in Bitcoin prices will not trigger a margin call or automatic liquidation; liquidation of pledged assets may only occur 60 days after the borrower defaults. Coinbase only acts as a custodian and technology provider and does not participate in credit decisions. Currently, the product only supports Bitcoin collateral; both parties mentioned USDC when announced in March but ultimately chose to launch with BTC first.

Slow Mist Reveals Details of the Allbridge Cross-Chain Bridge Attack: Forged CCTP Messages, Flash Loans, Insufficient Minting Result Verification

The Slow Mist security team disclosed that the cross-chain bridge project Allbridge was attacked on August 19, 2026, resulting in a loss of approximately $190,000. Notably, this attack was not executed instantly; the attacker had begun laying the groundwork nearly a month prior and bypassed the verification mechanism by forging cross-chain messages. According to Slow Mist's analysis, on July 26, the attacker directly called Circle's MessageTransmitterV2.sendMessage function on the Polygon chain, constructing a cross-chain message disguised as a CCTP style message, claiming that a transfer of 1 million USDC existed, but in reality, no USDC destruction operation took place. Subsequently, Circle generated a valid verification proof (attestation) for this complete message according to normal procedures.About 24 days later, on August 19, the attacker waited for the Base Router to receive a real CCTP deposit, increasing the balance to approximately 191,000 USDC, and initiated the attack just 6 seconds later. The attacker utilized the previously forged message and verification proof to call Allbridge's receiveCctpMessage function. Due to the project's lack of critical verification, the system mistakenly recognized the false cross-chain message as a real deposit and recorded a limit of 1 million USDC. The attacker then temporarily borrowed approximately 809,000 USDC through an Aave flash loan, matching the Router balance with the forged amount, and used the internal credit record to call the transfer function, ultimately transferring out approximately 999,000 USDC (after a 0.1% fee). After repaying the flash loan and fees, the attacker netted a profit of about $189,800. The root cause of this vulnerability lies in Allbridge's failure to verify the identities of the sender and receiver of the cross-chain message, as well as not confirming whether USDC was genuinely minted and whether the balance actually increased, instead directly trusting the amounts and message hash data constructed by the attacker. Slow Mist emphasizes that on-chain message verification does not equate to the actual arrival of real assets. Cross-chain protocols not only need to verify the authenticity of messages but must also ensure that the message source is trustworthy, that the receiver is Circle's official TokenMessengerV2, and that asset accounting can only proceed after confirming the actual minting of assets and changes in balance. This incident once again highlights the security risks of cross-chain bridges in the message verification and asset settlement processes.
