Competition among exchanges extends to everyday payments, Gate launches a brand new one-stop financial portal Gate Money

According to an official report from Cointelegraph, the competition among cryptocurrency exchanges is undergoing transformation, with the industry's focus gradually shifting from trading data to users' broader daily financial needs. During TOKEN2049, Gate officially launched a one-stop financial service application, Gate Money, to lead this new competitive landscape.Dr. Han, the founder and CEO of Gate, pointed out that Gate Money aims to break down the barriers between traditional investments and daily consumption. It integrates users' named bank accounts, fiat currencies, cryptocurrency assets, and traditional financial holdings such as stocks and gold into the same account system, combined with the Gate Card that supports Apple Pay and Google Pay, as well as a Visa co-branded card, granting assets instant consumption capabilities. It also integrates various fiat currency deposits and withdrawals, on-chain transfers, instant exchanges, and up to 3.6% annualized wealth management, achieving a one-stop experience for asset management, appreciation, and payments. While expanding its business, Gate always places compliance and transparency at its core. Currently, the platform has obtained compliance qualifications in Malta, Dubai, Australia, and the United States; the platform's total reserves amount to $8.688 billion, with a comprehensive reserve ratio of 118.49%. The launch of Gate Money marks Gate's acceleration towards upgrading into a comprehensive financial ecosystem that encompasses daily payments and comprehensive asset management.

first_img TrendForce: Apple’s foldable device shipments in the first year are approximately 5 million units

According to TrendForce, Apple's first foldable phone, iPhone Duo, has been available for pre-order for less than a week, and some orders on the official website have already been delayed until January 2027. TrendForce estimates that global shipments of foldable phones will see a slight increase of 0.5% in 2026, with Apple’s first foldable iPhone expected to ship around 5 million units, capturing approximately 24.8% market share in its first year, and Apple's entry will accelerate the redistribution of brand market share.Initial user feedback shows that the split-screen operation and screen experience after unfolding have been positively received, while the black edges of apps, button configuration, and fingerprint unlocking have increased adaptation costs. Reports of screen damage and high repair quotes have shifted the focus to reliability and ownership costs. TrendForce states that the visibility of creases on the iPhone Duo is relatively low, which is related to multi-layer material stress control and nano-texture optical optimization; the droplet-shaped hinge bears dynamic control, and insufficient retreat of the central support can lead to additional contact and stress concentration.Apple has provided replacements for a small number of devices with abnormal inner screens, and subsequent engineering improvements are expected to focus on hinge travel, support height, fitting precision, and assembly tolerances. On the software side, some apps still have black edges and insufficient space utilization, and the large screen has also increased energy consumption management requirements. TrendForce believes that Apple's advantage lies in the integration of chips, systems, and developer ecosystems, with competition shifting from design innovation to multi-tasking efficiency.

Hackers claim to have leaked information of over 40,000 employees from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security through Okta, and DDoSecrets has made it public

According to TechCrunch, a hacker claiming to be from the "Department of Peace" has reportedly obtained a large amount of employee data from the Okta single sign-on system used by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which was publicly released on Wednesday by the data transparency organization Distributed Denial of Secrets (DDoSecrets) as the "Icepick" dataset. The leaked records exceed 40,000, accounting for about one-fifth of DHS's approximately 220,000 employees, involving names, positions, work emails, phone numbers, and office locations, along with information related to internal system permissions. Among these, approximately 21,000 records belong to Customs and Border Protection (CBP) personnel, while about 10,000 records involve the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and its Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), with nearly 1,000 related to the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).TechCrunch stated that it has verified the authenticity of some of the data, with timestamps indicating that the data was exported around mid-August. The hacker also provided the data to journalist and hacker maia arson crimew, who then forwarded it to DDoSecrets. Okta responded that its systems and data were not breached; a spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security has not yet responded to requests for comment. The report indicates that this is the third incident of data leakage from the U.S. government that has drawn attention in the past month, following the theft of Federal Bureau of Investigation personnel files and Pentagon personnel data.
