Tencent is beta testing "Tencent Cloud Drive," positioning it as a unified memory base for multiple agents

According to "Du Jia," Tencent has launched the internal testing of "Tencent Cloud Drive," with some features still being iterated, and plans to release an App version. This product focuses on file storage, data management, and AI applications, with a core positioning as a unified memory base for multiple Agents, aiming to connect various AI applications and office tools, unify and carry context, allowing multiple Agents to collaborate based on the same information.Practical tests show that the internal test version retains basic entry points such as the homepage, files, recycle bin, and storage space, with a floating AI assistant panel on the right side. The core highlight of the product is its "connection" capability, supporting binding with Tencent Docs, WorkBuddy, and integrating third-party Agents like DeepSeek Harness and OpenClaw. After authorization, the Cloud Drive AI assistant can read application files, automatically sync updates, and directly call information as a knowledge base for retrieval, summarization, and content generation. The binding page will clearly inform users of the scope of permissions and the rules for AI credit consumption. The report points out that, unlike traditional Cloud Drive AI's document summarization, this system fully connects documents, Cloud Drive files, and Agent workspaces, shifting the Cloud Drive from a file repository to a data memory platform in the AI era.

first_img Apple is testing its first foldable screen iPad, expected to be launched in 2028

According to a report by the Science and Technology Innovation Board Daily, Apple is testing its first large-screen foldable iPad, with a maximum screen size of about 20 inches, expected to be 18 to 20 inches when fully unfolded, and more portable when folded. It is positioned between a tablet and a laptop, with a launch expected in 2028. The design concept references the Huawei MateBook Fold, which has already been launched in China. This news aligns with analyst Ming-Chi Kuo's previous judgment that Apple plans to launch its first large-screen foldable iPad in 2028, with a focus on minimizing creases. Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman previously described it as an ultra-large screen similar to two iPad Pros joined side by side, aimed at multitasking and productivity scenarios. It is expected to use ultra-thin glass, and Kuo believes Corning may be the exclusive supplier of the glass. GIS Group is reportedly responsible for cutting, edge finishing, quality inspection, and packaging, and both companies are also involved in other Apple foldable projects, including the foldable iPhone Duo.The report notes that the latest version of the Huawei MateBook Fold was released in August 2026, with an 18-inch unfolded size and a thickness of 7.3 millimeters when fully unfolded. It was launched in China with a starting price of 24,999 yuan. Industry insiders expect Apple's pricing for this device to be relatively high, primarily due to the manufacturing difficulties of large-size flexible screens. Previous industry forecasts estimated first-year shipments to be around 500,000 to 1 million units. This project has not yet been officially confirmed by Apple.

Celestia launches Eden: testing AI Agent autonomous trading and payment with high-performance EVM chain

The modular blockchain project Celestia announced the launch of Eden, a high-performance EVM chain running on Celestia. Celestia stated that Eden will serve as an "Agentic Commerce" experimental sandbox to test the behavior and infrastructure needs of AI Agents when autonomously making payments, trading, and calling models on-chain.Celestia indicated that as AI Agents begin to participate in more frequent on-chain transactions, the market demand for block space, real-time settlement, and low-friction payments will continue to rise. Eden will help teams observe what kind of transaction environment Agents need, how they manage funds, and how their on-chain behavior will affect network design. The first experimental project of Eden is Botfun, currently in closed testing. According to Celestia, participating Agents can issue tokens independently and trade around narratives generated by other Agents; each model inference call is paid on-chain via x402.Celestia claimed that this experiment briefly positioned Eden as one of the largest x402 networks by transaction count. From a technical configuration perspective, Eden is an EVM-compatible chain that supports atomic batch transactions, application-paid Gas, and larger smart contract deployments, with the native Gas token being TIA. These designs will reduce the friction of signatures and fees when Agents continuously execute payments, exchanges, and interactions.

According to The Defiant, OKX announced the launch of the Onchain Spot and Perps public beta within its app. Qualified users can use free points (XP) to simulate trading in stock, index, and commodity markets, preparing for subsequent real fund trading. This simulated trading competition shares a prize pool of 250,000 USDT with Outcomes Season 3, running from October 14, 22:00 EST to November 14, 11:00. XP points have no cash value and cannot be withdrawn, transferred between accounts, or exchanged for financial instruments. The first simulated markets include gold, S&P 500 ETF, SpaceX, and Nvidia themes, with separate trading pairs for spot and perpetual contracts. Participants are testing trading strategies rather than purchasing shares of the aforementioned companies. OKX's product announcement indicates that qualified customers come from Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, the Commonwealth of Independent States, as well as the Middle East and North Africa; users must complete identity verification and use a passkey to open a dedicated on-chain account through their existing OKX account. The trading venue operates on Exchange OS built on X Layer, and OKX refers to this account as self-custodial, supporting a unified balance between spot, perpetual contracts, and Outcomes. The spot and perpetual markets share margin, eliminating the need for internal transfers between product accounts.OKX stated that after the competition ends, real fund trading will be opened, allowing users to fund their on-chain accounts from their OKX exchange accounts, with spot and perpetual contracts settled on-chain in USDS. The activity XP and positions will not convert to real fund positions.

Trump plans to transfer senior officials from the AI testing agency to the White House, with a 40-person team evaluating top models

The Trump administration plans to transfer three senior officials from the U.S. artificial intelligence model testing agency CAISSI to the White House, reporting directly to White House technology policy director Michael Kratsios and national cyber director Sean Cairncross. The government had previously considered moving the entire agency to the White House but ultimately only adjusted part of the senior leadership; the related transfers have not yet been completed, and the identities of the three officials have not been disclosed. Since its establishment by the Biden administration, the agency has used three different names in less than two years, and Chris Fall, the head, resigned just three months after taking office in July of this year, with a successor yet to be determined.CAISSI is affiliated with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) under the U.S. Department of Commerce, has about 40 employees, and an annual budget of approximately $15 million, responsible for model safety assessments. According to informed sources, the agency is collaborating with the National Security Agency to test OpenAI's Astra and Anthropic's Mythos before public release; it has previously assessed DeepSeek V4 Pro and Zhiyuan GLM-5.3. Google confirmed that Gemini 4 Argon has participated in the voluntary testing process before the U.S. government release. The White House hopes that this adjustment will allow model testing experts to be more directly involved in policy decision-making.

The success rate of the Zhipu legal model is nearly three times higher, and the testing cost is about one-seventieth of that of its competitors

The artificial intelligence company Zhipu released a legal-specific model GLM-Legal, which is further trained based on GLM-5.3-Flash. In the Harvey LAB evaluation covering 24 categories of legal services, the task pass rate increased from 6.7% to 19.2%, nearly tripling the original version, surpassing models like Kimi K3 and Claude Fable 5, and ranking seventh on the Vals AI leaderboard. When reviewing software service contracts, GLM-Legal suggested shortening the termination notice period from 60 days to 30 days and required service providers to offer up to 90 days of handover support. In another software project dispute involving 40 documents, it found that the company reported to the client that the project was 60% complete, while internal records indicated only about 41%. It also identified emails from the CEO requesting to conceal risks and continue charging, and analyzed potential legal liabilities in conjunction with contract terms.According to independent evaluations by Vals AI, the cost for GLM-Legal to complete a test is $0.15, while the closely performing Gemini 4 Argon costs $10.55, a cost difference of about 70 times. GLM-Legal took an average of 72 minutes, while the latter took 44 minutes. Zhipu stated that the model was trained specifically on legal data and conducted reinforcement learning in tens of thousands of simulated legal environments. Currently, GLM-Legal requires an API trial application.
