first_img Samsung Electronics is developing AI glasses with a display, expected to be released in the second half of 2027 at the earliest

According to the Science and Technology Innovation Board Daily, Samsung Electronics has begun developing its first AI glasses equipped with a display. This product not only provides audio functionality but also displays colorful visual information on the lenses, similar to the Meta Ray-Ban Display smart glasses.Industry insiders revealed that Samsung Electronics is considering developing an ultra-small screen with a size of only 0.2 inches or smaller for the AI glasses, and last month assigned this R&D task to Samsung Display, outlining requirements regarding product dimensions, information display area, color, and price. Samsung Electronics is currently evaluating candidate panel solutions such as OLEDoS or LEDoS, and the industry expects this product to be released in the second half of 2027 or the first half of 2028.Currently, the specific details of the glasses have not been finalized. In terms of color display, Samsung Electronics is expected to use a limited grayscale with 4-bit color instead of a high-definition screen, and it has not yet decided whether to adopt a binocular or monocular design. Industry insiders indicate that RGB OLEDoS faces challenges in terms of price and yield, and it is likely that a white OLEDoS panel will be launched. Samsung previously released AI glasses without a display, co-developed by Samsung Electronics, Google, Gentle Monster, and Warby Parker.

first_img AMD claims that the AI opportunity will reach 2 trillion dollars by 2030, and the data center is expected to reach 70 billion dollars by 2027

On September 8, 2026, at the Citigroup 2026 Global TMT Conference, AMD stated that AI-related opportunities could reach $2 trillion by 2030. The company expects its data center business to double by 2027, with sales reaching approximately $70 billion, of which AI GPUs will contribute about $40 billion, while the remainder will come from server CPUs. The server CPU market size has been revised up to $220 billion by 2030, previously estimated at $60 billion.AMD has secured procurement commitments of $29 billion to $30 billion, gaining the largest capacity allocation increase among all customers of TSMC, but still faces tight supply of wafers, HBM memory, advanced packaging, and substrates. The MI450 is expected to begin mass production and shipping in the third quarter of 2026, with further ramp-up in the fourth quarter. The gross margin guidance for the third quarter is 56%, as the MI450 ramps up, with a slight decline in gross margin expected in the fourth quarter of 2026 and 2027. Chief Financial Officer Jean Hu stated that the speed, scale, and rise of AI are unprecedented.AMD has announced three major anchor customers: Meta, OpenAI, and Anthropic, all involved in multi-gigawatt deployments and multi-generational collaborations. Helios is ramping up at the rack level. The acquisition of Taalas has been completed, and collaboration with Cerebras is underway to integrate the Helios system with its wafer-scale engine technology. Server CPU revenue is expected to grow over 80% year-on-year in the second half of 2026, with growth exceeding 70% entering 2027. Enterprise server revenue grew over 70% in the second quarter of 2026.

first_img Ethereum will include Frame Transactions in the 2027 upgrade, allowing users to pay Gas without holding ETH

According to CoinDesk, Ethereum core developers have included EIP-8141 (Frame Transactions) in the 2027 Hegotá upgrade plan. During the core developer call on August 27, the proposal was marked as "Scheduled for Inclusion," meaning it will become part of the network update rather than just a candidate proposal. Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, one of the ten authors of the proposal, stated on X on Sunday night that Frames have made significant progress in the past few months.Frames aim to address the issue where users hold stablecoins but cannot transfer them due to a lack of ETH. It splits transactions into independent steps such as authorization verification, fee payment, and instruction execution, allowing the sender and payer accounts to no longer have to be the same. For example, payment applications can cover fees themselves or settle ETH bills on behalf of users after collecting stablecoins, while the Ethereum network still prices in ETH, and users do not need to purchase ETH. Unlike existing wallet solutions that rely on third-party services, Frames will achieve this capability through the standard Ethereum transaction process.Additionally, Frames will bundle operations that need to be executed simultaneously, such as authorization and submission in token transactions, with authorization being revoked if the transaction fails; it also allows accounts to customize transaction approval rules, enabling the replacement of private keys or the adoption of quantum-resistant keys without needing to migrate funds to a new address. Currently, the specification is still a draft, and details may be adjusted before the Hegotá upgrade, with users unable to use Frames yet.

first_img Catastrophe bonds are set to go on-chain, with the first tokenization issuance test scheduled for 2027

The law firm Harneys and the tokenization platform droppRWA plan to issue the first catastrophe bond that directly records ownership on the blockchain, with the first trading target set for early 2027. This structure will make the blockchain a legally enforceable record of ownership, with investor registration, qualification review, and payment processes all placed within the same system, reducing reconciliation time from several days to seconds, provided that the necessary regulatory approvals are obtained. The catastrophe bond market is a $65.6 billion market that allows insurance companies, reinsurance companies, and government agencies to transfer natural disaster exposure to capital market investors. The tokenized asset market has nearly tripled in the past year to over $33 billion, and Citigroup expects this sector to reach $5.5 trillion by 2030. The second quarter of 2026 is projected to be the largest quarter in catastrophe bond issuance history, with 48 transactions issuing a total of $11.3 billion, and the Bermuda Stock Exchange accounted for 93% of global catastrophe bond issuance in 2025.To lower the investment threshold, investors will not directly purchase catastrophe bond notes, which typically have a minimum denomination of $250,000, but instead purchase beneficial interests in vehicles that hold the bonds and pass through the returns, with the minimum investment amount expected to drop to $5,000. The project is still subject to applicable regulatory requirements and approvals, and any platform administrator role must be licensed under Bermuda's Digital Asset Business Act 2018.

first_img Kraken's parent company Payward has postponed its IPO to the second quarter of 2027

According to two informed sources, Payward, the parent company of cryptocurrency exchange Kraken, has postponed its highly anticipated initial public offering (IPO) to as early as the second quarter of 2027. CoinDesk reported in March this year that the company had shelved its multi-billion dollar IPO plans due to a challenging market environment; this delay further extends the much-watched listing process.Payward confidentially submitted its S-1 registration statement draft to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in November 2025, shortly after the company completed an $800 million funding round at a $20 billion valuation, which included a $200 million investment from Citadel Securities. After Circle and Bullish successfully went public last year, the cryptocurrency industry originally expected a wave of listings in 2026, but weak coin prices and trading volumes, along with the lackluster market performance of some newly listed digital asset companies, dampened investor enthusiasm, leading companies like Grayscale, Consensys, and Ledger to also postpone their listing plans.During the IPO hiatus, Payward continued to expand beyond its core exchange business, venturing into traditional and crypto derivatives, tokenized stocks, and payment infrastructure through a series of acquisitions and product launches. The company's adjusted revenue for the second quarter was $508 million, a 17% year-over-year increase, with the number of funded accounts rising to 6.6 million and platform assets reaching $40 billion.

first_img 39 U.S. state banking associations have formed the BankChain alliance, aiming to launch a blockchain network by 2027

The bankers' associations from 39 states in the United States have jointly formed the BankChain alliance, planning to build an industry-owned blockchain network for tokenized deposits, stablecoins, smart payments, and automated settlements, with the goal of launching in 2027. The alliance is currently still selecting technical partners and has not yet become an operational payment network. The BankChain alliance states that the 39 member associations represent 3,283 banks, with total assets of $21.8 trillion. The board of the alliance is chaired by Kathy Kraninger, president and CEO of the Florida Bankers Association. Howard Headlee, president of the Utah Bankers Association, stated that governance is a differentiated advantage, and BankChain aims to allow member banks to "equally access a network owned by them and have their voices heard."The area that BankChain is entering has a bank tokenization deposit project led by The Clearing House, which was announced in June and aims to facilitate on-chain clearing and settlement of tokenized commercial bank money, connecting the RTP and CHIPS payment networks. In contrast, BankChain's product range is broader, covering stablecoins and automated settlements, but it is still in the early stages and needs to first identify technology suppliers and convert association-level support into commitments from member banks.
