first_img Coinbase CEO stated that a price of $400,000 for Bitcoin by 2030 is still a reasonable target

According to Decrypt, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong stated in an interview with CNBC Squawk Box Asia that a Bitcoin price of $400,000 by 2030 is still a "reasonable goal," despite the current BTC price being around $77,000. He cited the four-year cycle pattern of Bitcoin, noting that the current downturn has lasted about a year, and said, "I personally believe that the bottom of this cycle for Bitcoin has already occurred." He also mentioned that typically there is a price increase before Bitcoin halving, which is expected to occur in about 18 months, stating, "The next one or two years will be a good time for Bitcoin."On the regulatory front, Armstrong is more optimistic about progress in Washington. The U.S. Senate will vote on the Clarity Act on September 15, and he stated that the bill is "ready to pass," with support from law enforcement agencies, several banks, and crypto companies, and the objections previously raised by Coinbase have been resolved. The remaining disagreement concerns the ethical rules regarding the president's family's crypto business, and negotiations are close to reaching a solution. Armstrong expects that regardless of whether the bill passes, there will be regulatory clarity within a month, as the SEC and CFTC have indicated they are ready to issue rules and innovation exemptions based on existing authority. He also cited last year's Genius Act as an example, stating that within three months of the bill's passage, over 150 large companies integrated stablecoins. If the Clarity Act passes, U.S. customers will be able to access tokenized stocks and perpetual contracts.

first_img Mastercard report: By 2030, 300 million shoppers will regularly use AI agents

Mastercard recently released the report "A Short History of the Future of Shopping and Payments," predicting that by 2030, approximately 300 million shoppers worldwide will regularly use AI agents, primarily concentrated in the United States, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, China, and South Korea. The report is based on a survey conducted from June to July 2026 involving 13 markets and 13,000 pairs of parents and teenagers (a total of 26,000 respondents). The survey shows that 65% of British teenagers believe AI will change the shopping habits of their generation, and the likelihood of teenagers globally using AI for shopping is about twice that of their parents. 22% of British teenagers expect shopping to be dominated by AI within five years, compared to only 11% in France. 79% of teenagers and 70% of parents have used AI to research products in the past year, while 51% of teenagers and 46% of parents have used AI to complete a purchase at least once. The report cites Gartner's prediction that by 2028, the majority of B2B procurement will be mediated by AI agents, driving over $15 trillion in spending; by 2030, 20% of monetary transactions will be programmable. The report also suggests that "Know Your Agent" (KYA) could become a compliance advantage, with payment intent, consent, and machine-readable warranties forming the infrastructure of agent-based commerce.

first_img Anthropic released an AI economic scenario, predicting a 32.4% increase in the U.S. GDP by 2030 under extreme conditions

Anthropic's economic team builds models to analyze the impact of AI on employment, growth, and unemployment in the United States. The model views the economy as a combination of tasks based on the U.S. Department of Labor's O*NET classification, where AI can keep tasks unchanged, enhance, automate, or create new tasks. The U.S. economy is described as having a task instance value of over $30 trillion.Three scenarios depend on AI capabilities and adoption speed: the moderate scenario is similar to the internet, with U.S. GDP increasing by 1.6% by 2030 ($34.1 trillion in 2025 prices), labor share at 59.4%, and capital share at 40.6%; in the substantial scenario, AI can perform half of knowledge work, GDP increases by 8.3% ($36.3 trillion), and wages for knowledge workers remain roughly stable, with a labor share of 56.1%; in the extreme scenario, AI is much more efficient in the vast majority of knowledge work and completes it almost entirely autonomously, with GDP increasing by 32.4% ($44.4 trillion), wages for knowledge workers dropping by over 10%, a labor share of 45.2%, and an unemployment rate exceeding typical recession levels.A survey conducted in August with over 10,000 Americans showed that typical responses were close to the substantial scenario (2030 GDP about 10% higher, unemployment rate about 5%), with about 10% of respondents nearing the extreme scenario. GDP increases in all scenarios, and transformative scenarios require more job transitions. The page provides a technical report and an interactive explorer.

first_img AMD claims that the AI opportunity will reach 2 trillion dollars by 2030, and the data center is expected to reach 70 billion dollars by 2027

On September 8, 2026, at the Citigroup 2026 Global TMT Conference, AMD stated that AI-related opportunities could reach $2 trillion by 2030. The company expects its data center business to double by 2027, with sales reaching approximately $70 billion, of which AI GPUs will contribute about $40 billion, while the remainder will come from server CPUs. The server CPU market size has been revised up to $220 billion by 2030, previously estimated at $60 billion.AMD has secured procurement commitments of $29 billion to $30 billion, gaining the largest capacity allocation increase among all customers of TSMC, but still faces tight supply of wafers, HBM memory, advanced packaging, and substrates. The MI450 is expected to begin mass production and shipping in the third quarter of 2026, with further ramp-up in the fourth quarter. The gross margin guidance for the third quarter is 56%, as the MI450 ramps up, with a slight decline in gross margin expected in the fourth quarter of 2026 and 2027. Chief Financial Officer Jean Hu stated that the speed, scale, and rise of AI are unprecedented.AMD has announced three major anchor customers: Meta, OpenAI, and Anthropic, all involved in multi-gigawatt deployments and multi-generational collaborations. Helios is ramping up at the rack level. The acquisition of Taalas has been completed, and collaboration with Cerebras is underway to integrate the Helios system with its wafer-scale engine technology. Server CPU revenue is expected to grow over 80% year-on-year in the second half of 2026, with growth exceeding 70% entering 2027. Enterprise server revenue grew over 70% in the second quarter of 2026.

first_img TSMC will start mass production using ASML's high NA EUV lithography machines in 2030

On September 8, TSMC announced that starting in 2030, it will adopt a new "high NA" extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography machine manufactured by ASML from the Netherlands for mass production. Both parties also stated that they will carry out industry-wide improvements on the high NA machines. ASML monopolizes the supply of EUV lithography machines used to form nanoscale ultra-fine circuits and will begin shipping high NA machines capable of drawing finer circuits starting in December 2023. Intel has already introduced high NA machines, while TSMC previously delayed mass production due to high costs and other reasons.TSMC and ASML will launch an industry-wide project to enlarge the photomask, which serves as the original circuit pattern, from the current 6-inch (approximately 15 centimeters) square to a 12-inch square, and develop high NA machines and related components corresponding to the large masks. A large mask pilot production line is planned to be established before 2031, and the high NA machines corresponding to the large masks are expected to reach a state suitable for advanced semiconductor production before 2033. Major semiconductor manufacturers and mask companies have expressed interest in participating.High NA machines can draw finer circuits, but the area that can be drawn in a single exposure is reduced to half that of traditional models, requiring multiple exposures for large chip circuits, which complicates the process and increases costs. Enlarging the photomask can expand the exposure area and reduce costs. TSMC Chairman and CEO C. C. Wei stated that the company will gather expertise from the entire industry to continuously promote technological innovation that makes advanced technology widely usable and convey its benefits.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China plans for intelligent computing power to reach 9800 EFLOPS by 2030

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China released the "14th Five-Year Plan for the Development of the Information and Communication Industry," setting the national intelligent computing power target at 9800 EFLOPS by 2030. According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, as of the end of July, the national intelligent computing scale was approximately 2450 EFLOPS (FP16), indicating that it needs to expand by about 4 times in the next four years based on this standard. The plan proposes an orderly deployment of intelligent computing clusters with tens of thousands and hundreds of thousands of cards, building inference computing power for different scenarios, and increasing the adaptation of domestic computing power chips. Currently, 52 intelligent computing facilities with more than ten thousand cards have been established nationwide. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology disclosed that the intelligent computing power scale at the end of June was 2185 EFLOPS, a year-on-year increase of 177%. The plan uses 1590 EFLOPS in 2025 as a benchmark, aiming to reach 9800 EFLOPS by 2030, which is an expansion of about 6.2 times. During the same period, the cumulative investment target for information infrastructure in the information and communication industry is 3.8 trillion yuan, which also includes communication networks and is not all allocated for AI computing power.
