DeGods founder Frank: Anthropic's prospectus cannot hide the investment risks in AI

The founder and trader of the NFT project DeGods, Frank, posted on X that although Anthropic's latest S-1 shows strong revenue growth, it cannot be concluded that the resistance to AI investment has disappeared. He stated that the second quarter of 2026 will be a peak for companies to purchase and consume AI Tokens in large quantities, and the market will only begin to pay attention to AI spending management by July; the rise in model homogeneity and the narrowing of output differences may intensify competition and compress profit margins, a trend that has not yet fully manifested in the second quarter.Frank also mentioned that there is still a lack of clear evidence proving that AI can create more profits for most companies, and Anthropic's large enterprise clients are also under pressure to improve their profit margins, which may lead to cuts in spending related to Claude in the future. Large tech companies and AI labs have signed capital expenditure commitments extending to 2034, and related expectations may have already been factored into stock prices; if companies improve the efficiency of existing chips to reduce costs or issue more shares to raise additional capital expenditure, it could put pressure on the valuations of related stocks. He expressed a long-term optimistic view on AI and may participate significantly in the Anthropic IPO, but believes that the ultimate winners in the industry have yet to be determined, and real investment opportunities may only emerge after the current market cycle ends.

first_img Franklin Templeton completes the final regulatory procedures before the listing of the Bitcoin dividend ETF

According to Bitcoin Magazine, Franklin Templeton, with assets under management of $1.7 trillion, has completed the final regulatory procedure before listing two ETFs that convert stock dividends into Bitcoin. On October 22, the company submitted Form 8-A to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to register shares of the Franklin US Equity Bitcoin DRIP Index ETF and the Franklin US Innovation Bitcoin DRIP Index ETF for trading on NASDAQ. The prospectus submitted on the same day indicates an effective date of October 27. These two funds were first filed in June of this year, with codes and fees not disclosed at that time. The stock fund code is FBEQ, which tracks the VettaFi US Large-Cap 500 Bitcoin DRIP Index. This index holds the 500 largest companies in the U.S. by market capitalization, weighted by free float. As of September 30, it actually held 499 stocks, with a concentration in the information technology sector. The fund's initial allocation is 95% stocks and 5% Bitcoin, with regular or special dividends distributed by companies being used to purchase Bitcoin at the opening of the next trading day after the ex-dividend date, increasing the Bitcoin allocation with each dividend payment.During quarterly rebalancing, any Bitcoin allocation exceeding 5% will be reduced to 4.5%; if the Bitcoin allocation exceeds 20% between two rebalancing periods, it will be brought down to 4.5% within two trading days, with the funds flowing back into stocks. The fund does not directly hold on-chain Bitcoin but gains exposure through Bitcoin exchange-traded products (including its own spot fund), futures and options, or depository receipts, with some achieved through a subsidiary in the Cayman Islands. The FBEQ fee is 0.09%, with no 12b-1 fees, managed by Franklin Advisory Services, and Franklin Templeton Institutional serves as a sub-advisor. The innovation fund employs the same mechanism, tracking the VettaFi US Innovation 100 Bitcoin DRIP Index, with components from the 100 largest non-financial companies listed on NASDAQ.Franklin Templeton had previously filed for a spot Bitcoin ETF in September 2023 and launched it in January 2024 under the code EZBC; in April of this year, it acquired 250 Digital and established an institutional digital asset department, Franklin Crypto. These two DRIP funds extend the strategy to investors who will not purchase Bitcoin on their own.

first_img Franklin Templeton expands tokenized collateral services to Bybit

According to CoinDesk, Franklin Templeton has expanded its "Over-the-Counter Collateral Program" to Bybit, allowing users of the exchange to use their tokenized money market fund shares for cryptocurrency trading. Users can use the shares as collateral to borrow stablecoins USDT or USDC, while the underlying assets continue to generate returns. The relevant shares represent approximately $686 million in net assets. The underlying assets will not be transferred to Bybit but will be held off-chain by the regulated custody platform ByCustody, with their value mirrored in the Bybit trading environment, thereby generating returns while releasing trading liquidity. The shares are issued through the Benji technology platform, which is Franklin Templeton's proprietary blockchain-integrated record-keeping and transfer agency infrastructure, currently paying an annualized return of 3.7% based on the latest 7-day interest rate. This is not Franklin Templeton's first foray into over-the-counter collateral partnerships, as it has previously offered tokenized money market funds to Binance and OKX clients. Sandy Kaul, Head of Digital Assets and Innovation at Franklin Templeton, stated that investors can now use collateral more efficiently across major exchanges and earn returns from it, which is crucial for ecosystem growth. This expansion also reflects industry trends, with platforms like Crypto.com and Deribit allowing qualified users to use BlackRock's BUIDL fund as trading collateral.
