grok

Grok is a data analysis tool commonly used for processing and parsing log data. It identifies and extracts specific text fragments by defining patterns, helping users extract useful information from complex datasets. In the blockchain field, Grok may be used to analyze transaction logs or smart contract execution records to better understand system behavior and performance.

first_img Grok released a seven-minute short film "Odyssey" on AI, and foreign media claimed it lacks artistic quality

According to a report from TechCrunch, Elon Musk announced that Grok would release a full-length, "historically accurate" movie version of "The Odyssey" three months later. On October 23, Grok released the first seven minutes of this AI-generated content, calling it "the first episode of our Odyssey series." This version was produced in collaboration with Wonder Studios and director Dev Walker. The Grok Imagine account posted on X, stating that viewers could comment on whether a complete production analysis is needed. The report mentioned that Musk previously criticized Christopher Nolan's version of "The Odyssey" because Nolan cast non-white and transgender actors. Although Nolan's version heavily utilized visual effects, it was still primarily a live-action film, shot across six countries with thousands of cast and crew members. After its release in July, the film achieved impressive box office results, with IMAX screenings sold out for several months, and it is considered a strong contender for the next Academy Awards. The TechCrunch author, after watching, stated that the video was not as bad as expected; some shots could be mistaken for real actors sailing on real seas, but the historical accuracy could not be determined. The author felt that the footage lacked artistry, inspiration, and warmth; the narration was lengthy, the dialogue stiff, and overall it lacked a sense of breath and momentum, making it hard to imagine that viewers would be interested in another seven minutes or even a whole movie.

first_img Grok 4.7 recommends the Republican Party 90% of the time, while GPT-6.1 nearly fully supports the Democratic Party

TechCrunch reported that the conversational AI research and design studio Convovo, led by Cornell University professor Tapan Parikh, released a study stating that when asked to recommend only one candidate for the upcoming U.S. midterm elections, SpaceXAI's Grok 4.7 chose Republican candidates 92% of the time, while OpenAI's GPT-6.1 Sol chose Democratic candidates 97% of the time. The study covered nearly 500 campaigns, with the two models agreeing on recommendations less than 10% of the time.Researchers posed the same question to both models via API, asking for a specific candidate without allowing for avoidance or a tie. The report noted that consumer applications refused to answer. An OpenAI spokesperson stated that ChatGPT is designed to be objective by default, and political conversations should not carry any directional bias; the study tested the developer API, and the prompt explicitly requested a candidate recommendation, which cannot represent the user experience when asking questions through the chat application. SpaceXAI did not respond to requests for comment in time. The report indicated that Grok's responses often cited conservative sources as well as Ballotpedia, OpenSecrets, and VoteSmart, with 39% including Christian conservative voter guides, 23% including Turning Point Action, and 41% including X; GPT's results heavily relied on Wikipedia, the Associated Press, Axios, and Reddit. The study also mentioned that each time Grok was called via the xAI API, it included approximately 1,240 additional input tokens that the researchers did not write, could not view, or remove. Parikh subsequently disabled online search and sampled 30 campaigns, with GPT choosing Democrats in 24 cases, while Grok refused to choose in 27 cases.

first_img Apple expands App Store review, violating AI deepfake applications will be removed

Apple Inc. announced the expansion of App Store review rules to include the regulation of AI-generated non-consensual intimate images. The platform had previously banned pornographic content, and the new rules require developers to proactively prevent and remove AI-generated deepfake content. If effective action is not taken, applications containing such violations will be forcibly removed from the store. The updated Clause 1.2 specifically mentions applications that create AI content and names controversial products such as Grok. Previously, users complained that Grok, a product of xAI, was used to create nude and sexually suggestive deepfake images. Earlier this year, Apple warned xAI that if such content continued to spread, Grok would be removed from the App Store; subsequently, xAI implemented safety measures, and the updated version was approved. The newly added Clause 2.5.19 targets so-called "bait-and-switch" tactics, stating that if developers hide new features or modules outside of the submitted review version, especially harmful features like "de-clothing" that are activated only after approval, they may be removed from both the App Store and the Apple Developer Program. Updates to Section 5 will also extend the ban on applications promoting human trafficking or child exploitation to alternative application distribution channels. Apple stated that when developers violate these guidelines, the related applications will be removed, and the developer's eligibility will be terminated.
