first_img Visa launched three commercial payment capabilities, including an AI-powered invoice payment pilot

On October 21, the payment network Visa announced three capabilities aimed at the growth of commercial cards, the security of virtual cards, and the automation of commercial payments in San Francisco, serving financial institutions, fintech companies, and enterprises. Darren Parslow, Global Head of Visa Commercial Solutions, stated that companies are accelerating the automation of payment-related tasks from identifying vendor opportunities to approving invoices and executing transactions. These capabilities are designed to provide the necessary data, security, and control. The three capabilities are SESA 2.0, Visa Commercial Fraud Solutions, and a live pilot conducted with the billing platform BILL and the accounts receivable platform Billtrust. SESA 2.0 combines AI vendor scoring, Visa commercial payment data, buyer benchmarks, and business value modeling to help identify vendors more likely to accept commercial cards and estimate growth opportunities. Visa claims that since its launch, SESA has helped financial institutions discover over $600 billion in potential cardable spending.Visa Commercial Fraud Solutions covers vendor verification, authenticating commercial virtual card users through 3-D Secure, and transaction-level controls such as spending, merchant category, location, and time. Payment controls have already been provided to eligible issuing institutions in supported countries and regions, while the other two are currently in pilot and are planned for full rollout in 2027. Visa also stated that the pilot with BILL and Billtrust has gone live, allowing trusted AI agents to initiate and assist in completing approved invoice payments through the vendor portal, using tokenized payment credentials without relying on shared vendor portal login credentials.

first_img The Swedish Government Office will ban ChatGPT and Claude, retaining only Microsoft Copilot

According to Sveriges Radio, the Swedish government office announced that starting from October 26 (Monday), ChatGPT and Claude will be banned on employee computers, with Microsoft Copilot approved as the only AI tool that has passed security review, and civil servants are required to switch to using Copilot.Mikael Wettercrantz, the agency's Director of Digitalization, stated in a post on the employee intranet that using AI services without a formal contract could "have consequences for our information security." He noted that multiple cases of improper use of open AI services have been identified, involving the sensitivity of the information inputted and the handling of AI-generated content. Due to the lack of formal agreements, consumer-grade AI tools send user queries to external company servers, and U.S. law allows authorities to request these companies to hand over data as required.Copilot is allowed to remain because the government office enhanced its security settings after review, while ChatGPT and Claude did not receive the same treatment. Some employees can still access these two banned tools through the AI platform built internally by the agency. Previously, the Swedish Tax Agency and the National Board of Health and Welfare had implemented similar bans, and the enforcement agency is also about to make a decision; an internal audit by the Transport Agency found about 10 AI services being "widely and at high risk" used.

first_img Cloudflare and OpenAI pilot, ChatGPT indexes hundreds of millions of new web pages

In July 2026, the internet infrastructure company Cloudflare launched a research pilot with OpenAI to test whether Cloudflare's network signals could help ChatGPT users discover new content more efficiently. Both parties reported positive early results, with the pilot incorporating previously unknown pages into OpenAI's search index, providing ChatGPT with more sources to reference. The pilot utilized about 1% of Cloudflare's global participation queue, allowing OpenAI to discover and index hundreds of millions of new web pages. OpenAI independently evaluated and ranked these pages based on relevance and usefulness, while ChatGPT Search enabled users to view original content and publishers through backlinks. Observations indicated that automated traffic might make non-existent pages appear noteworthy, with some sites redirecting arbitrary addresses to their homepage and others pointing to duplicate content. Both parties are also testing signals to identify potentially harmful pages, such as fake login pages embedded on legitimate sites, advocating for the marking of single pages rather than entire domains.Related signals are also used to filter out non-existent or redirecting pages and to assess whether unchanged pages are worth revisiting. Page signals do not constitute access permission; the study utilized web metadata for search and discovery rather than using page content for model training. Site owners can understand and manage how AI systems access their websites through Cloudflare's AI Crawl Control. The next phase will improve page selection and test faster, more reliable change signals.

According to PR Newswire, NFT Limited (stock code MI, formerly known as Takung Art), a company listed on the NYSE American, announced the proposed technical agreement RWAIX in Hong Kong on October 13 and released an open-source reference implementation on GitHub under the MIT license. The company operates an online trading platform for international artworks and collectibles, stating that the agreement is intended to allow buyers, sellers, AI agents, and robots to verify identities, confirm agreements, and ensure that deliveries actually occur, with the existing digital art platform intended to serve as the first real-world scenario. The company claims that internally managed test records show 50 tests passed with no failures, and it plans to launch a limited live pilot within 90 days after completing an independent security review and other conditions, targeting the first quarter of 2027. The reference implementation includes core protocol logic in Node.js, 50 automated test cases with expected outputs, schema and API documentation, as well as a browser demonstration using synthetic data. The company also stated that RWAIX has not yet been integrated into the production environment, and the related timeline may still be adjusted. The existing digital art trading platform is operated by its wholly-owned Hong Kong subsidiary, Metaverse Digital Payment Co., Limited. The pilot aims to first upgrade the consent purchase, delivery, independent verification, payment, and dispute resolution processes for an existing NFT order, using existing banking channels. CEO Yanying Wang stated that the company already has customers, orders, and payments, and plans to verify within the next 90 days whether the agreement can be used for real customer orders.
