ust

UST is an algorithmic stablecoin in the Terra blockchain ecosystem, designed to maintain a value peg to the US dollar through smart contract mechanisms. The supply of UST is dynamically adjusted based on market demand to ensure price stability. As a core component of the Terra platform, UST is widely used in payments, lending, and decentralized finance (DeFi) applications. Its design goal is to provide a stable value storage and medium of exchange without the support of centralized institutions.

first_img Mechaman CEO Shao Tianlan: As embodied intelligence becomes more popular, we must be wary of short-sightedness

The industrial robot and embodied intelligence company Mechaman landed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on September 1, 2026, known as the "first stock of embodied intelligent eyes, brains, and hands." Founder and CEO Shao Tianlan stated that going public is just a move; what truly matters is that the company becomes a public entity. He still considers himself an engineer, spending about half of his time on core technology, application scenarios, and product iterations.Shao Tianlan pointed out that some embodied intelligence companies rely on data collection centers and industrial projects to generate revenue, with insufficient commercialization validation. He described companies that enter the public market prematurely, with high risks and unverified business models, as "secondary market primary." He believes this is a short-sighted approach that could cause significant harm to tech startups, China's innovation ecosystem, and the health of the capital market.Shao Tianlan positions Mechaman as a new technology-driven enterprise, with the expected management principles of being pragmatic, not exaggerating, and not being deceptive. He hopes to become a key general intelligent component similar to Microsoft and Siemens in the era of embodied intelligence. This IPO attracted participation from several long-term funds and industrial capital, including Baillie Gifford.

first_img South Korean media: China's semiconductor industry is being promoted by a team system involving government, banks, and enterprises

According to South Korea's "JoongAng Ilbo," China's semiconductor industry is organized through collaboration among the central government, local governments, state-owned financial institutions, and enterprises, forming a system for fundraising, factory construction, and infrastructure support. The China National Integrated Circuit Industry Investment Fund has a first phase of 138.7 billion RMB, a second phase of 204 billion RMB, and a third phase of 344 billion RMB, totaling 686.7 billion RMB, with investments in companies such as SMIC, Hua Hong Semiconductor, and Yangtze Memory Technologies.Changxin Memory, established for 10 years, has risen to fourth in global DRAM market share, with a net loss of 21.13 billion RMB over the past three years, while R&D and equipment investments during the same period reached 185.2 billion RMB, with Hefei's state-owned capital providing about 80% of the funding for early projects. South Korea's Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix are responsible for investments, employment, technology development, and support for partners. The South Korean government plans to guide 622 trillion KRW in private investment by 2047 and provide 17 trillion KRW in low-interest loans and 1.1 trillion KRW in semiconductor ecosystem funds, but most of the burden will fall on enterprises.Park Kyung-soo, Executive Vice President of the Korea Semiconductor Industry Association: The semiconductor industry will fall behind in the next upturn if investment stops; even during downturns, R&D, equipment investment, and orders for materials and components must be maintained, requiring long-term policy, financial, and tax support. China is catching up with a national-level support system, and South Korea also needs a response system involving the government, political circles, financial institutions, and enterprises to act together.

first_img TSMC accelerates its layout in CPO, and the industry is optimistic about forming a new Moore's Law

According to Taiwan's "Commercial Times" report on September 14, as the computing power of GPUs and ASICs continues to rise, traditional copper interconnects are gradually approaching the limits of power consumption and signal transmission. TSMC is accelerating its layout for co-packaged optics (CPO). The industry is optimistic that if CPO bandwidth continues to double every two years, it may form the "CPO Moore's Law" of the AI era. Industry analysis indicates that the upgrade of CPO bandwidth mainly has three paths: including increasing single-channel speed from 200G to over 400G, expanding the number of optical channels from 16 to 32, 64 or more, and introducing wavelength division multiplexing (WDM). By 2040, the theoretical value could reach about 128 times the current level, with long-term potential for development towards hundreds of T based on the current level of about 3.2T.TSMC's role in optical interconnects has extended from wafer foundry to system integration, gradually integrating computing, HBM memory, and high-speed I/O from 3DFabric, CoWoS, SoIC to silicon photonics and CPO. When high-speed electrical signals exceed 200G, signal attenuation increases after passing through longer copper paths such as ABF substrates, PCBs, and connectors, leading the industry to develop shorter copper paths and longer optical paths. In terms of packaging architecture, the optical engine is currently laid out on the substrate, and the next step is expected to place CPO in the intermediary layer, with future possibilities of using SoIC technology to achieve 3D vertical integration of photonic integrated circuits (PIC) and ASICs. Industry players indicate that CPO still needs to overcome challenges in packaging, optical coupling, and testing before mass production can be achieved.

ZachXBT: Revolut allegedly caused the leakage of information for some high-net-worth users due to mistakenly trusting a forged government request

On-chain detective ZachXBT posted on his personal channel that Revolut allegedly leaked some users' personal identifiable information (PII) due to failing to recognize a forged government agency information request.According to his disclosure, Revolut previously received a request for customer information retrieval that appeared to come from a real government agency and was sent through the agency's official email domain. Because the email had valid domain authentication information, Revolut believed the request was legitimate and responded accordingly. The potentially involved data includes users' names, birth dates, occupations, addresses, email addresses, and phone numbers, as well as copies of passports or driver's licenses, identity verification selfies, account statements, IBANs, withdrawal records, and complete transaction histories, including Bitcoin transaction records. Revolut stated in the notification sent to users that no biometric facial telemetry data was leaked.ZachXBT indicated that the scale of the incident may currently be limited, but it appears to primarily target high-net-worth users. Several Revolut users received notifications regarding the related security incident yesterday. Revolut officials had previously reminded users to verify suspicious information through in-app customer service to avoid providing personal or financial information.

first_img Zodia Custody CEO Julian Sawyer stepped down and transitioned to a strategic advisor

Institutional digital asset custodian Zodia Custody's CEO Julian Sawyer announced his resignation and will take on the role of strategic advisor. In a memo sent to employees on September 10, Sawyer stated that Standard Chartered Bank's acquisition of Zodia Custody's custody business and the establishment of Zodia Solutions provided an appropriate time for him to hand over daily leadership responsibilities, and he will continue to be closely involved in company affairs.According to the memo, Zodia Custody's Chief Revenue Officer Richard Clark will lead the company’s transition to Standard Chartered Bank and will be responsible for the custody business; current executives Craig Perrin and Anoosh Arevshatian will be responsible for the establishment of Zodia Solutions. A spokesperson for Zodia Custody confirmed this personnel change. Zodia Custody is an institutional-grade digital asset custodian based in London, supported by Standard Chartered Bank and other banks, providing regulated asset custody, wallet infrastructure, staking, and over-the-counter settlement services for financial institutions, asset management companies, and others. This arrangement differs from previous plans. In May of this year, SC Ventures announced that Sawyer would serve as CEO of Zodia Solutions after the acquisition was completed. Standard Chartered Bank stated in May that Zodia's shareholders and noteholders had accepted its non-binding acquisition offer, and the custody business would be integrated into the bank's financing and securities services division, while the infrastructure platform would be spun off into Zodia Solutions, which is under SC Ventures.
