Vy Capital disclosed that it holds $40 billion in SpaceX shares, becoming the fifth largest shareholder

According to the Financial Times, the low-profile venture capital firm Vy Capital currently holds approximately $40 billion worth of SpaceX shares, with a stake of about 3.4%. According to Bloomberg data, the firm has become the fifth-largest shareholder of SpaceX, disclosing a holding size larger than that of Silicon Valley venture capital firms such as Sequoia Capital and Andreessen Horowitz. Vy Capital first invested in SpaceX in 2016 when the company's valuation was around $15 billion; after SpaceX went public this year with a valuation of about $1.75 trillion, the value of its holdings has significantly increased.Vy Capital is also the largest external investor in Elon Musk's tunnel company The Boring Company and brain-computer interface company Neuralink, and had committed $700 million for Musk's acquisition of Twitter in 2022. The firm's head, John Hering, has a close relationship with Musk, having invested over $100 million in SpaceX shortly after the Falcon 9 rocket launch failure in 2016; since 2019, he has also been involved in the early business development of Starlink, including hiring personnel and building financial models, and has held a SpaceX employee badge. Currently, Hering serves as a director of The Boring Company, and Vy Capital also participated in the company's recent $3 billion financing round.Vy Capital's assets under management have increased from $27 billion at the end of last year to $50 billion in June of this year. In a letter to investors, the firm stated that since its establishment in 2014, it has achieved a total internal rate of return of 41% and has distributed $4.6 billion to investors. Vy Capital expects that if investment judgments materialize, SpaceX's valuation will exceed $10 trillion in the next 5 to 7 years. The firm currently has only a few dozen employees, with a core investment team of four, and has stopped accepting external investors since last year.

Strategy released the "Bitcoin Investor Guide": Bitcoin is becoming the cornerstone of the digital capital market

Strategy publicly released the "Bitcoin Investor Guide," compiled by its team, with a revision date of September 7, 2026, and market data as of September 4. The guide is aimed at professional investors, private investors, bankers, advisors, and capital allocators, systematically elaborating on Bitcoin's monetary attributes, investment logic, market structure, portfolio role, custody methods, and risks. The core viewpoint asserts that Bitcoin is no longer just a speculative asset but is becoming the foundation of a new type of digital capital market—a scarce, open, global reserve asset. The long-term logic is based on scarcity, open access, global liquidity, and independent verification, and it may absorb some of the monetary premiums currently attached to gold, real estate, stocks, bonds, and artworks.Key data snapshot (as of September 4, 2026): Bitcoin price is approximately $79,809, the 200-week moving average is about $64,715 (premium of approximately 23.3%); 1-year return is approximately -28.3%, and 10-year annualized return is about 62.8%; 30-day average trading volume is around $28.3 billion, and open interest is about $96 billion; spot ETFs hold approximately 1.27 million BTC, and the total network hash rate is about 935 EH/s. The guide emphasizes Bitcoin's positioning as "digital capital": a maximum supply cap of 21 million coins, no issuer, no expiration date, no contractual cash flows, with value primarily determined by scarcity and the monetary premium assigned by the market. It can be held directly, transferred globally, and independently verified. After the U.S. SEC approves the spot Bitcoin ETP in January 2024, institutional access has significantly increased, and the infrastructure for futures, options, and custody continues to mature. In terms of risk warnings, the guide points out Bitcoin's high volatility, lack of repayment commitments, and the potential for significant price declines; self-custody and third-party custody, ETPs, corporate securities, and derivatives all carry different legal, operational, and counterparty risks; transactions are irreversible, and loss of keys can lead to permanent loss. Strategy, as a publicly listed company with significant Bitcoin holdings, has a vested interest in Bitcoin prices. The document clearly states that it is for educational purposes only and does not constitute investment advice.

Data: Bitcoin and Ethereum options with a nominal value of 2.52 billion USD are set to expire today

According to Greeks.live, options delivery data shows that 29,000 BTC options are set to expire, with a Put Call Ratio of 0.6, a maximum pain point of $78,000, and a nominal value of $2.24 billion. 114,000 ETH options are set to expire, with a Put Call Ratio of 1.17, a maximum pain point of $2,450, and a nominal value of $280 million.Analysis indicates that Bitcoin continues to fluctuate around $80,000, having surged to $80,000 over three days in late last month, and has been consolidating for nearly three weeks now. The monthly realized volatility (RV) remains unchanged compared to last week, while the monthly implied volatility (IV) has slightly increased, with a general rise in the volatility risk premium (VRP). From other major options data, 7% of options are set to expire this week, with BTC and ETH open interest slightly declining compared to last week, and overall trading activity has also seen a certain pullback. The cryptocurrency market has experienced a 10-month bear market, with the main altcoins' gains concentrated in a week last month; however, during the pullback period, some concept coins and memes have shown signs of recovery, which is a positive signal. The brief calm in the U.S. stock market has also provided a breathing window for the crypto market, creating a very optimistic market atmosphere. Currently, the monthly out-of-the-money IV is not high, making it worthwhile to consider some directional buys.

Researchers claim that purchasing 6TB of relay station data can breach 19 companies including Huawei and Xiaomi

Security researcher Shou Chaofan stated that he just purchased about 6TB of Fable model invocation data from a leading Chinese model relay station, which included sensitive credentials such as SSH keys, VPN configurations, Alibaba Cloud keys, and GitLab tokens. He claimed that the keys in this batch of data were sufficient for him to access the servers or internal systems of 19 leading Chinese companies, as well as 7 Chinese and CIS government-related agencies, including Huawei, Xiaomi, NIO, and MiniMax.The model relay station is positioned between users and models like Claude, so requests and responses pass through it first, allowing it to see the complete plaintext. Once developers insert SSH Keys, API Keys, VPN configurations, etc., into the Agent context, if the relay station saves or even sells these records, the company's system keys will also leak out. This is not the first time Shou Chaofan has warned about the risks of relay stations. A paper he participated in tested 428 LLM relay stations in April and found that 9 actively injected malicious code, 17 actually used AWS test keys deliberately placed by researchers to call AWS, and 1 directly transferred ETH from the test wallet.Shou Chaofan is a co-founder of the blockchain security company Fuzzland and has long been engaged in vulnerability and supply chain security research. At the end of March, he also first discovered that the source map in the Claude Code 2.1.88 release package accidentally exposed about 500,000 lines of TypeScript source code.

Bitget has integrated with the official Nasdaq data source, becoming the first cryptocurrency platform in the industry to adopt this standard

According to official news from Bitget, Bitget has completed a comprehensive upgrade of its U.S. stock product market data source, officially connecting to the Nasdaq official data source, becoming the first cryptocurrency trading platform in the industry to adopt this data standard. Compared to the previous data model, Nasdaq official data can provide users with more accurate and timely market data, and maintain better price stability and continuity during periods of significant market fluctuations. To further ensure data quality, after connecting to the official data, Bitget has established a multi-layered assurance mechanism based on the official metadata, including data processing, real-time monitoring, quality comparison, simulation validation, and anomaly data filtering. Nasdaq, as a core data service provider long adopted by global financial markets, has had its data standards validated over many years in the traditional financial sector. This upgrade also marks a further deepening of Bitget's global asset trading infrastructure development. As the trading categories gradually expand from digital assets to global assets such as U.S. stocks, the platform will continue to enhance its underlying data, liquidity, and risk management capabilities, and introduce more mature institutional-level market standards to provide individual investors and institutional clients with a more stable and efficient cross-market trading experience, continuously enhancing the comprehensive competitiveness of its Universal Exchange (UEX).

first_img Anthropic released an AI economic scenario, predicting a 32.4% increase in the U.S. GDP by 2030 under extreme conditions

Anthropic's economic team builds models to analyze the impact of AI on employment, growth, and unemployment in the United States. The model views the economy as a combination of tasks based on the U.S. Department of Labor's O*NET classification, where AI can keep tasks unchanged, enhance, automate, or create new tasks. The U.S. economy is described as having a task instance value of over $30 trillion.Three scenarios depend on AI capabilities and adoption speed: the moderate scenario is similar to the internet, with U.S. GDP increasing by 1.6% by 2030 ($34.1 trillion in 2025 prices), labor share at 59.4%, and capital share at 40.6%; in the substantial scenario, AI can perform half of knowledge work, GDP increases by 8.3% ($36.3 trillion), and wages for knowledge workers remain roughly stable, with a labor share of 56.1%; in the extreme scenario, AI is much more efficient in the vast majority of knowledge work and completes it almost entirely autonomously, with GDP increasing by 32.4% ($44.4 trillion), wages for knowledge workers dropping by over 10%, a labor share of 45.2%, and an unemployment rate exceeding typical recession levels.A survey conducted in August with over 10,000 Americans showed that typical responses were close to the substantial scenario (2030 GDP about 10% higher, unemployment rate about 5%), with about 10% of respondents nearing the extreme scenario. GDP increases in all scenarios, and transformative scenarios require more job transitions. The page provides a technical report and an interactive explorer.

first_img The UK's National Economic Crime Centre warns that criminals are innovatively using cryptocurrency assets for money laundering

According to Decrypt, the UK's National Economic Crime Centre (NECC) warned in its annual report released this week that criminals are "innovatively using cryptocurrency products to evade detection and transfer illegal value on a large scale."The agency is part of the UK's National Crime Agency (NCA) and is responsible for coordinating the UK's response to economic crime. The threat assessment in the report indicates that cross-border money laundering networks are spreading, combining new and traditional methods while transferring funds through both legitimate and illegitimate channels; many organized crime groups no longer launder money themselves but outsource it to specialized networks for a fee. The report also mentions artificial intelligence alongside cryptocurrency, noting that criminals are using synthetic identities and process automation to attack banks. The report shows that cryptocurrency ranks third among the nine economic crime priorities identified by the UK's National Economic Crime Centre, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), the Home Office, and the Treasury in July 2025, above cash crime and money mules. The agency states that it is developing "more proactive, intelligence-led cryptocurrency capabilities." Additionally, its joint operation "Atlantic Action" with the U.S. Secret Service, Coinbase, Binance, Kraken, and Tether has identified 20,000 approved phishing victims and frozen $12 million in funds; the "Stable Action" targeting Russian networks converting street cash into cryptocurrency has arrested 129 individuals and seized over £25 million in the UK.The report also mentions a report on privacy-enhancing technologies in the cryptocurrency industry released by the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI).

first_img The Economist estimates that AI has created approximately 1 million jobs in the United States

The Economist estimates that AI has created about 1 million new jobs in the United States so far, far exceeding the approximately 200,000 jobs cut due to AI since mid-2023. This conclusion is based on the employment data for August released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics on September 4: the U.S. economy added 162,000 jobs, and the unemployment rate remained at 4.1%. The unemployment rate for young people aged 20-24 is now close to its lowest level in decades compared to the overall unemployment rate.Job growth mainly comes from high-skilled positions directly serving AI and blue-collar jobs driven by data center construction. Since 2022, about 730,000 jobs exceeding the trend line have been added for engineers, software developers, mathematicians, and data scientists. The chief economist at Burning Glass Institute estimates that currently about 1% of professional jobs in the U.S. can be classified as AI jobs, with that proportion reaching 4% to 5% in the fields of computer and life sciences. Spending on data center construction has increased by 60% within a year, leading to a rise in demand for electricians, HVAC technicians, and others. Data from Indeed shows that salaries for data center installation and maintenance jobs are about 40% higher than similar positions.Customer service positions have shrunk by about 10% since January 2023, and administrative assistants have decreased by about 15%. Microsoft and Meta have reduced staff while restructuring their businesses around AI, and companies like Block and Intuit have replaced some manual labor with automation tools. On average, U.S. companies announce about 16,000 layoffs related to AI each month. Economist Noah Smith points out that it is currently difficult to find occupations eliminated by AI in labor data.

first_img Loomis criticizes the Democratic Party for delaying the Clarity Act, stating that further compromise is still needed

U.S. Republican Senator Cynthia Lummis has once again criticized the Democrats for delaying the much-anticipated Clarity Act. Lummis stated in response to a Semafor report on the X platform that if the bill fails, the responsibility lies with the Democrats for failing to join Republicans in supporting this bipartisan legislation. She pointed out that the Democrats' continued demands for amendments could lead future regulatory agencies to "stifle the crypto industry." Lummis added that if the differences can be bridged, she believes the Clarity Act could pass, but this requires further compromise from the Democrats, rather than concessions from the White House. Lummis had previously stated that if the bill fails, it will be due to the Democrats. The U.S. Senate is set to hold a procedural vote on the bill next week, and Lummis warned that if it does not pass next week, there will be no realistic opportunity within this decade. The Clarity Act aims to formally delineate the responsibilities of regulatory agencies and distinguish whether digital assets are classified as securities, commodities, or stablecoins. The bill was passed by the House of Representatives last July but was shelved due to conflicts between banking lobbyists and crypto companies over customer stablecoin yield issues. A new draft circulating in July prohibits government officials from promoting or profiting from crypto, with Democrats criticizing the Trump family for venturing into this area, yet still deeming the bill insufficient and calling for amendments.
