XRP Ledger developers test a zero-balance account creation plan, which is proposed to be funded by the sponsor to cover the 1 XRP reserve requirement

According to CoinDesk, XRP Ledger developers are testing a new feature that aims to allow the creation of blockchain accounts with an initial balance of zero, with existing accounts bearing the reserve required for new accounts, thereby lowering the financial threshold for payment applications and automated software to create wallets on a large scale. This proposal was submitted on October 15 in the form of a SponsoredAccountCreate transaction proposal.According to current XRP Ledger rules, each account must reserve at least 1 XRP as a reserve, meaning that creating 100,000 independent accounts would require locking up 100,000 XRP. The new proposal intends for sponsored accounts to bear this reserve requirement, and a broader fee sponsorship mechanism in the future could also allow applications to pay transaction fees on behalf of users, but the overall reserve requirement for the network will not be eliminated. This feature is expected to lower the usage threshold for scenarios such as embedded wallets, RLUSD stablecoin payments, and AI agent automated payments. However, the related code is still under review, and the sponsorship mechanism it relies on has not yet gone live on the mainnet. As of October 19, the mechanism has only received 11 votes out of the 35 required validator votes, still falling short of the 29 votes needed for approval.

Tencent is beta testing "Tencent Cloud Drive," positioning it as a unified memory base for multiple agents

According to "Du Jia," Tencent has launched the internal testing of "Tencent Cloud Drive," with some features still being iterated, and plans to release an App version. This product focuses on file storage, data management, and AI applications, with a core positioning as a unified memory base for multiple Agents, aiming to connect various AI applications and office tools, unify and carry context, allowing multiple Agents to collaborate based on the same information.Practical tests show that the internal test version retains basic entry points such as the homepage, files, recycle bin, and storage space, with a floating AI assistant panel on the right side. The core highlight of the product is its "connection" capability, supporting binding with Tencent Docs, WorkBuddy, and integrating third-party Agents like DeepSeek Harness and OpenClaw. After authorization, the Cloud Drive AI assistant can read application files, automatically sync updates, and directly call information as a knowledge base for retrieval, summarization, and content generation. The binding page will clearly inform users of the scope of permissions and the rules for AI credit consumption. The report points out that, unlike traditional Cloud Drive AI's document summarization, this system fully connects documents, Cloud Drive files, and Agent workspaces, shifting the Cloud Drive from a file repository to a data memory platform in the AI era.

first_img Apple is testing its first foldable screen iPad, expected to be launched in 2028

According to a report by the Science and Technology Innovation Board Daily, Apple is testing its first large-screen foldable iPad, with a maximum screen size of about 20 inches, expected to be 18 to 20 inches when fully unfolded, and more portable when folded. It is positioned between a tablet and a laptop, with a launch expected in 2028. The design concept references the Huawei MateBook Fold, which has already been launched in China. This news aligns with analyst Ming-Chi Kuo's previous judgment that Apple plans to launch its first large-screen foldable iPad in 2028, with a focus on minimizing creases. Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman previously described it as an ultra-large screen similar to two iPad Pros joined side by side, aimed at multitasking and productivity scenarios. It is expected to use ultra-thin glass, and Kuo believes Corning may be the exclusive supplier of the glass. GIS Group is reportedly responsible for cutting, edge finishing, quality inspection, and packaging, and both companies are also involved in other Apple foldable projects, including the foldable iPhone Duo.The report notes that the latest version of the Huawei MateBook Fold was released in August 2026, with an 18-inch unfolded size and a thickness of 7.3 millimeters when fully unfolded. It was launched in China with a starting price of 24,999 yuan. Industry insiders expect Apple's pricing for this device to be relatively high, primarily due to the manufacturing difficulties of large-size flexible screens. Previous industry forecasts estimated first-year shipments to be around 500,000 to 1 million units. This project has not yet been officially confirmed by Apple.

Galaxy Research: The frequent occurrence of "garbled inscriptions" on the Bitcoin network is not encrypted information, but may be a script test

Galaxy Research published an analysis stating that over the past three weeks, the Bitcoin network has seen approximately 40 inscriptions composed of random letters each day, which appear to be encrypted text but are not actually cryptographic information. The related address had previously written the U.S. Constitution into the Bitcoin network in May.The research found that after analyzing 562 texts, the frequency of the 26 English letters is almost evenly distributed, which is significantly different from the characteristics of normal English and substitution ciphers; metrics such as word length distribution and frequency of repeated words also indicate that these texts are likely generated by a random letter generator.Galaxy Research refers to the operator as the "Babel Scribe," believing it is more like testing a data publishing tool on the Bitcoin mainnet rather than attempting to convey hidden information. The structure of on-chain transactions, the continuous use of change addresses, and the regularity of publication times all exhibit characteristics of automated scripts. Related activities also include testing texts, random words in different languages, binary data, and the subsequent writing of the U.S. Declaration of Independence. It is estimated that the project has transferred approximately 3.33 million satoshis in total, of which about 24% was used to pay miner fees, while the remaining funds are still held in the related address. Researchers suggest that there is no need to interpret these garbled texts as hidden information.
