first_img AMD claims that the AI opportunity will reach 2 trillion dollars by 2030, and the data center is expected to reach 70 billion dollars by 2027

On September 8, 2026, at the Citigroup 2026 Global TMT Conference, AMD stated that AI-related opportunities could reach $2 trillion by 2030. The company expects its data center business to double by 2027, with sales reaching approximately $70 billion, of which AI GPUs will contribute about $40 billion, while the remainder will come from server CPUs. The server CPU market size has been revised up to $220 billion by 2030, previously estimated at $60 billion.AMD has secured procurement commitments of $29 billion to $30 billion, gaining the largest capacity allocation increase among all customers of TSMC, but still faces tight supply of wafers, HBM memory, advanced packaging, and substrates. The MI450 is expected to begin mass production and shipping in the third quarter of 2026, with further ramp-up in the fourth quarter. The gross margin guidance for the third quarter is 56%, as the MI450 ramps up, with a slight decline in gross margin expected in the fourth quarter of 2026 and 2027. Chief Financial Officer Jean Hu stated that the speed, scale, and rise of AI are unprecedented.AMD has announced three major anchor customers: Meta, OpenAI, and Anthropic, all involved in multi-gigawatt deployments and multi-generational collaborations. Helios is ramping up at the rack level. The acquisition of Taalas has been completed, and collaboration with Cerebras is underway to integrate the Helios system with its wafer-scale engine technology. Server CPU revenue is expected to grow over 80% year-on-year in the second half of 2026, with growth exceeding 70% entering 2027. Enterprise server revenue grew over 70% in the second quarter of 2026.

F2Pool co-founder claims the rise of Zcash is due to narrative hype

F2Pool co-founder Wang Chun (@satofishi) pointed out that the current rise of Zcash is essentially a narrative-driven speculative behavior, rather than being supported by actual value. He listed several core issues: in terms of unfair distribution, 20% of the block rewards in the first four years were allocated as "founder's rewards" to founders, employees, advisors, and early investors, totaling 2.1 million ZEC, which accounts for 10% of the total supply cap. This was followed by a similar percentage taken under the name of a "development fund"; regarding privacy mechanisms, the privacy feature is optional rather than a default setting, and most tokens circulate in transparent addresses for a long time, criticized as a "marketing gimmick."In terms of governance, the Electric Coin Company (ECC) has long-standing management conflicts with the foundation, and in January 2026, the ECC team collectively left, claiming they were expelled. In terms of security, in May 2026, it was disclosed that the Orchard privacy pool had a serious vulnerability for four years, theoretically allowing the forgery of ZEC without on-chain traces. In July, the old pool was urgently closed and forced migration occurred, which was seen as a remedial action rather than a positive development. Wang Chun believes that Zcash being listed alongside Solana and Hyperliquid in market capitalization does not represent that it has the same actual application value; the current price reflects more of a "narrative short squeeze" rather than the network's fundamentals.

first_img Google claims that the cost of AI server memory has exceeded 75%, promoting a dual-track strategy for software and hardware

The SEMICON Taiwan 2026 Memory Summit took place on the 1st, where Nikhil Cherian, Senior Director of Supply Chain Infrastructure at Google Cloud under Alphabet, pointed out that with the popularity of multimodal and mixed expert architectures, AI computation has shifted from being power-limited to memory-limited, with high-performance memory accounting for over 75% of the cost of AI server hardware bill of materials. In the face of capacity, bandwidth, and power consumption bottlenecks, Google is breaking through the AI memory bottleneck through a dual-track strategy of hardware offloading for inference and training, and lossless quantization software algorithms.Google adopts an offloading strategy in hardware architecture, launching TPU 8i for low-latency inference and TPU 8t specialized for large-scale training. The TPU 8i is equipped with 288 GB of high-bandwidth memory, with SRAM capacity on the chip increased threefold to 384 MiB, placing dynamic conversation states and key-value caches on the chip itself to achieve zero chip-off latency. The TPU 8t forms a super-large computing cluster with 9600 chips, achieving a shared pool of HBM at a scale of 2 PB, eliminating chip-off data transfer bottlenecks, along with TPU Direct Storage technology.Google has developed the training-free TurboQuant lossless quantization algorithm, compressing the key-value cache of large models from 32 bits to 3 bits, reducing memory usage by six times without loss of accuracy, resulting in an eightfold acceleration in attention computation, and integrating old-generation DRAM technology to extend the lifecycle of components.

first_img The nonprofit organization claims that Trump's cryptocurrency project caused investors a loss of $4.7 billion

Consumer rights organization Public Citizen released a report stating that U.S. President Trump and his family's cryptocurrency projects have resulted in investor losses of at least $4.7 billion since 2022. Most of the losses stem from the TRUMP meme coin issued by Trump, with investors losing about $3.2 billion, while buyers of World Liberty Financial's USD1 stablecoin "have not suffered significant losses."The report noted that Trump profited $7.2 million from NFT royalties, over $600 million from the sale of World Liberty tokens and equity, $635 million from meme coin royalties, and $197 million in revenue from investing in World Liberty. These figures do not include the company and project shares he continues to hold, and some data is included in the President's 2025 disclosure documents, showing his cryptocurrency-related income reached $1.4 billion.Public Citizen once again called for the inclusion of ethical provisions in the Digital Asset Market Clarification Act (CLARITY Act), requiring the U.S. President and his family to divest from industry-related projects. The bill is scheduled for a final vote on September 15 and requires support from at least 60 senators to advance. White House spokesperson Anna Kelly previously responded that Trump's cryptocurrency investments "do not present a conflict of interest."
