Earnings per share were 10,849 won, a year-on-year increase of 52%.The Device Solutions (DS) division reported revenue of 127.5 trillion Korean won, with operating profit of 89.2 trillion Korean won, a quarter-on-quarter increase of 56%, driven by demand for AI server memory, with both revenue and profit reaching historical highs. HBM4 has been mass-produced and shipped, and HBM4E samples have been delivered to major customers. The Device Experience (DX) division saw a quarter-on-quarter revenue decline of 9%, with the MX business affected by component cost pressures, reporting revenue of 33.2 trillion Korean won and an operating loss of 0.7 trillion Korean won.Samsung expects strong demand for server DRAM, eSSD, and HBM to continue in the second half of the year, with a tight market supply situation persisting, although demand in the mobile and PC sectors may see some slowdown. The company plans to expand sales of high-value-added products such as HBM4, DDR5, and SOCAMM2, and to mass-produce new mobile products using the second-generation 2nm process, aiming for double-digit revenue growth in its foundry business.

hot_img SK Hynix Q2 revenue reached 79.3 trillion won, a year-on-year increase of 257%, operating profit of 60.5 trillion won set a historical high but fell short of expectations

SK Hynix released its Q2 2026 financial report, with revenue of 79.3 trillion Korean won (approximately 52.9 billion USD), a year-on-year increase of 257% and a quarter-on-quarter increase of 51%; operating profit of 60.5 trillion Korean won (approximately 40.3 billion USD), a year-on-year increase of 557% and a quarter-on-quarter increase of 61%, with an operating profit margin of 76%; net profit of 93.9 trillion Korean won (approximately 62.6 billion USD), with a net profit margin of 118%, which includes a one-time gain of approximately 62.2 trillion Korean won from the sale of Kioxia shares. The cumulative revenue for the first half of the year has surpassed 100 trillion Korean won for the first time. Although the performance set a new historical high for a single quarter, it fell short of market expectations for revenue of 83.9 trillion Korean won and operating profit of 64.2 trillion Korean won, leading to a drop of over 5% in ADR after the financial report was released. The growth in performance is driven by the increase in both volume and price of high-performance AI products (HBM, eSSD, etc.). HBM4 has begun mass production and shipment in Q2, with plans to expand production in the second half of the year; samples of HBM4E have been delivered. The company has finalized long-term supply agreements (LTA) with about 10 customers, securing approximately 50% of sales volume. As of the end of the quarter, cash and cash equivalents reached 88 trillion Korean won, with a net cash position of 69.4 trillion Korean won. The company expects capital expenditures in 2026 to reach the upper end of the 40-50 trillion Korean won range and is advancing the mass production of the Cheongju M15X and the construction of the Yongin cluster.
