first_img TRM Report: The trading volume of the x402 protocol comes mostly from AI agents

A report released by the blockchain intelligence company TRM Labs shows that most of the transaction volume on the x402 payment protocol launched by Coinbase does not come from AI agents. The report analyzed 198.9 million settlements processed by known x402 facilitators on Base, Solana, and Polygon since May 2025, involving an amount of approximately $52.7 million. After excluding self-payments and other anomalous fund flows, about $25.62 million was identified as potential commercial transactions, of which only 0.6% to 7.5% by amount came from AI agents. TRM pointed out that ordinary scripts, scheduled tasks, and self-trading can also generate the same on-chain records, so the total transaction volume of the protocol is insufficient to measure agent commerce; their model identifies addresses that repeatedly pay for the same service as scripts, which may underestimate the actual scale of single-use agents. During the reporting period, USDC accounted for 99.6% of the settlement value, approximately $52.47 million.Meanwhile, Binance's Agent OS launched in August has integrated the x402 payment layer, Coinbase's Base supports agents and payment startups through a $1 million accelerator, and Amazon also launched AgentCore Payments in May in collaboration with Coinbase and Stripe. TRM recommends improving the on-chain agent registration mechanism, establishing a verifiable counterparty reputation system for agents, and building a monitoring framework suitable for small, high-frequency payments, stating that "agent commerce requires agent compliance."

European Securities and Markets Authority report: Tokenized stocks may lead to liquidity fragmentation

According to Ledger Insights, the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) recently published the "Trends, Risks, and Vulnerabilities Report for the First Half of 2026," in which digital assets and prediction markets occupy three chapters. Regarding crypto assets, the report warns that the increasing ties between cryptocurrencies and the traditional financial sector pose risks. Concerning tokenization, the report points out that issuing different tokenized versions of the same stock may lead to fragmented liquidity. As for prediction markets, the report believes that prediction markets have not yet seen significant development in Europe. This is because major platforms do not yet hold EU licenses, and in most cases, they need to obtain licenses. The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) outlines some potential advantages of tokenization, including increased efficiency, expanded investor access, programmability, and atomic settlement. On the other hand, ESMA also questions how much these advantages are actually realized within these encapsulated structures.Since the ownership of the underlying stocks is off-chain, there is no single data source on-chain, and self-custody can only be achieved indirectly through these structures. Tokenization structures also introduce additional layers of intermediaries, leading to complexity and risk. The settlement advantages are also difficult to realize. Even if token transfers occur on-chain, the cash portion of the transaction is usually settled separately, whether through bank payments or other channels. This means that for certain transactions, the promised atomic settlement (i.e., simultaneous delivery of securities and cash) has not yet been achieved.

CATGPT surged again, briefly breaking through 20 million USD before retreating, with a current market value reported at 15.62 million USD

According to GMGN market data, after an afternoon of consolidation and fluctuations, the Robinhood ecosystem Meme coin CATGPT surged again, briefly breaking through 20 million USD before retreating, with a current market value of 15.62 million USD and a nearly 1-hour increase of 41%. CATGPT is paired for trading with OPENAIx1L (OPENAI 1x Long tokenized position) through the Long.xyz platform.Long.xyz is a meme coin issuance platform on the Robinhood chain, focusing on the innovative model of "coin-stock Meme," directly binding traditional Meme coins with tokenized US stocks, forming a dual-driven mechanism of "sentiment speculation + real asset anchoring." The platform allows users to issue Meme tokens and directly form trading pairs with on-chain US stock tokens (such as NVDA, TSLA, AAPL, etc.) instead of traditional USDT or ETH pairs, while a portion of the trading fees is returned to the community treasury to accumulate corresponding US stock tokens, creating a unique value capture model.Currently, OPENAI has high IPO expectations, but it is difficult to go long in the traditional market before it goes public. This type of tokenized long + Meme pairing provides speculative exposure on-chain. It is an upgraded version of the previous Meme pairing with stock tokens like NVDA. According to market news, the prices of related tokens are highly volatile and carry significant uncertainty, so users should invest cautiously.

first_img Anthropic reported that Claude was used in cyber attacks and surveillance activities

In a threat intelligence report released on Thursday, Anthropic stated that Russian and Chinese users are leveraging its AI model Claude to automate cyberattacks. Among them, a Russian operator codenamed "JackPoterz" has automated most parts of the attack chain through a customized AI-driven workflow, targeting over 20 organizations, including government departments and intelligence agencies, as well as embassies and diplomatic missions in Ukraine and several European countries.Chinese users are using Claude as the engineering and orchestration layer for vulnerability research, with one workflow producing more than a dozen potential zero-day vulnerabilities in network device firmware within a month. Anthropic pointed out that AI is changing the economics of cyberattacks, allowing a single operator to complete an intrusion in two to three hours and handle dozens of victims in parallel.Additionally, the report revealed that a suspected independent consultant based in Bamako, collaborating with Mali's national intelligence agency, has used Claude as the primary engineering force to build a large-scale domestic surveillance system covering approximately 25 million SIM cards across all three mobile operators in the country. This system is locally deployed and operates using local models, with software design and engineering support provided by Claude, enabling the generation of intelligence profiles on phone numbers without the need for court warrants.

WalletConnect Report: Global Cryptocurrency Regulation Enters Implementation Stage, DeFi Remains the Largest Unresolved Area

WalletConnect released a 68-page report titled "Current Status of Policy, Compliance, and Regulation," outlining global regulatory progress in areas such as payments, DeFi, trading, custody, and tokenization. The report indicates that discussions on cryptocurrency regulation in major markets have shifted from "whether to regulate" to "how to implement," with relevant frameworks transitioning from legislation to actual enforcement at different speeds, but cross-border rules remain highly fragmented. The report points out that the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) will be fully applicable from December 2024, with the national transition period ending on July 1, 2026; currently, there are about 330 authorized crypto asset service providers in the ESMA temporary register, and over 1,000 companies that were reported to have failed to obtain authorization before the deadline prior to MiCA's implementation. Hong Kong will issue the first batch of stablecoin issuer licenses in April 2026, and Japan's revised Payment Services Act will take effect in June of the same year. Although the U.S. GENIUS Act has become law, the relevant system will not be fully effective until January 18, 2027, and broader market structure legislation is still pending.WalletConnect states that jurisdictions are increasingly adopting a "regulated touchpoint responsibility" model, meaning that issuers and service providers must still fulfill anti-money laundering, sanctions screening, travel rule, and record-keeping obligations when interacting with self-custody addresses. Tools such as sanctions screening, on-chain analysis, address control verification, and reusable identity credentials have been used in some businesses, demonstrating that compliance and self-custody are not mutually exclusive; however, how to regulate decentralized software and protocols remains unresolved, and DeFi continues to be a major frontier issue for global regulation.

first_img Mastercard report: By 2030, 300 million shoppers will regularly use AI agents

Mastercard recently released the report "A Short History of the Future of Shopping and Payments," predicting that by 2030, approximately 300 million shoppers worldwide will regularly use AI agents, primarily concentrated in the United States, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, China, and South Korea. The report is based on a survey conducted from June to July 2026 involving 13 markets and 13,000 pairs of parents and teenagers (a total of 26,000 respondents). The survey shows that 65% of British teenagers believe AI will change the shopping habits of their generation, and the likelihood of teenagers globally using AI for shopping is about twice that of their parents. 22% of British teenagers expect shopping to be dominated by AI within five years, compared to only 11% in France. 79% of teenagers and 70% of parents have used AI to research products in the past year, while 51% of teenagers and 46% of parents have used AI to complete a purchase at least once. The report cites Gartner's prediction that by 2028, the majority of B2B procurement will be mediated by AI agents, driving over $15 trillion in spending; by 2030, 20% of monetary transactions will be programmable. The report also suggests that "Know Your Agent" (KYA) could become a compliance advantage, with payment intent, consent, and machine-readable warranties forming the infrastructure of agent-based commerce.

Bitget August Transparency Report: Institutional Business Completes Multiple Product and Infrastructure Upgrades

Bitget released its transparency report for August 2026, disclosing its latest progress in the construction of a multi-asset trading ecosystem. In terms of U.S. stock tokens, taking rNVDA as an example, its daily trading volume reached $38.5 million, with over 4,200 users completing approximately 112,800 transactions, of which about 36% of the trading volume occurred outside regular U.S. trading hours, reflecting that rToken is becoming a core tool for investors to break through traditional trading time constraints and achieve 24/7 global asset allocation. On the institutional business front, Bitget launched an institutional-level CFD liquidity solution aimed at quantitative teams, proprietary trading firms, funds, brokers, and high-net-worth professional traders, supporting high-frequency quantitative trading, arbitrage between futures and spot, and automated trading scenarios such as EA.At the same time, the platform launched FCN (Fixed Coupon Notes), bringing traditional financial structured products into the tokenized U.S. stock market, becoming the first cryptocurrency exchange to combine the FCN structure with USDT settlement and U.S. stock rToken delivery. As related products and trading infrastructure continue to improve, Bitget is further strengthening its capabilities in institutional-level services, multi-asset coverage, and liquidity. In addition, third-party data shows that Bitget performs outstandingly in terms of liquidity and execution efficiency for tokenized stocks and stock perpetual contracts. In a liquidity benchmark test targeting the five stock spot markets of MSTR, SPY, QQQ, CRCL, and NVDA, DeFiLlama recorded Bitget with the lowest median bid-ask spread of 0.83 basis points and the deepest order book liquidity among all sample markets. In execution benchmark tests covering 36 stock perpetual contracts and 8 types of metal and commodity perpetual contracts, Bitget maintained a significant lead in approximately 90% of trading pairs.

first_img The U.S. Department of Defense has been reported to request OpenAI to provide a special version of AI with the "lowest rejection rate" for military commands

Documents obtained by The Intercept through a lawsuit under the Freedom of Information Act show that the U.S. Department of Defense once requested OpenAI to provide a version of artificial intelligence specifically tailored for the military, with a "very low refusal rate" for commands. This statement appeared in the updated contract for the 2025 prototype agreement "P00003," which is a two-year agreement worth up to $200 million, covering logistics, intelligence decision-making, and operational uses. OpenAI, Google, xAI, and Anthropic all agreed to develop such militarized prototypes in 2025.OpenAI spokesperson Nate Evans stated that the company never agreed to contract terms that included a "very low refusal rate," and the relevant documents were early drafts from the Department of Defense, with the final executed contract not containing that statement. Department of Defense spokesperson Jacob Bliss also indicated that the phrase did not appear in any current contracts. The Intercept pointed out that the documents obtained were not marked as drafts; a Department of Justice lawyer representing the Pentagon once confirmed that the document was a signed executed version, but later requested to disregard that confirmation and stated that further investigation was needed. The latest contract signed on February 27 allows OpenAI services to be deployed on military classified networks, with similar delivery terms completely redacted. OpenAI stated that it has drawn a red line regarding autonomous killing and surveillance of Americans, but the contract text allows the government to determine any use as legal.

WEEX Labs: GME's performance exceeded expectations but the stock price still fell, AVAV announced its financial report after hours

On September 9, WEEX TradFi market data showed that GameStop (GME) stock price slightly decreased by 1.41%, closing at $18.89. Its latest disclosed Q2 financial report shows an adjusted EPS of $0.27, revenue of $790.2 million, a year-on-year increase of 57% in collectibles sales, and an operating profit of $160.2 million, a record high. The adjusted EBITDA for the fiscal year 2026 has been raised to over $650 million. WEEX Labs believes that the weak GME stock price is due to twofold pressure: first, the overall core revenue is still showing a severe double-digit decline compared to the same period last year, and the traditional retail to digital transformation has not achieved a fundamental breakthrough; second, market expectations regarding equity swaps and potential follow-up fundraising have squeezed bullish sentiment. In addition, AeroVironment (AVAV) will announce its FY27Q1 financial report after the market closes today, with market expectations for EPS around $0.22 and revenue around $468 million. Its stock price volatility will depend on the ramp-up of drone order capacity, gross margin performance, and the fulfillment of warehouse delivery guidance. Trade stocks and gold with WEEX TradFi, and you can also open daily eggs, with a 100% chance of winning, to win up to 10,000 USDT in position airdrops.
